Trolls & Surveys Gang 2012-2014, where you at?
Does spider has puspus?
Goodbye, my dear friend. My dad often posted comments to the Yahoo! articles. The comments sections on their articles were amazing until they took that away last year.
Miiverse getting shut down is a bitch and a half since Nintendo still has miiverse-ish options built into their newer games but like every fucking shitty game out there now It's "account integration" with twitter required instead of just using your Nintendo account like with Miiverse. This is a big reason as to why the Posts in the US splatoon 2 square are all fucking shitty low effort "TRAAAAANS" posts 80% of the time. Sometimes they go around mass flagging accounts that don't post politics shit on there, the NinTranny cabal is very real and I fear for the kids exposed to that shit.Well we hardly knew ya Yahoo Answers. Say hello to Miiverse for me.

HTTPS moment, heh. A forum I have some perms on refuses to enforce HTTPS in order to allow older devices to view. (Given that it's a legacy OS forum essentially split from MSFN's community thanks to bad moderation there, this makes sense... honestly is HTTPS all that great if the cipher suite / protocol is insecure, plus it relies typically on a "trusted" CA which aren't always so sincere - see: Symantec and COMODO, also the ease of a free "trusted" cert makes it too easy to setup a scam site, people used to be told to look for the padlock and now that advice is effectively BS)With current era censorship and various retro tech no longer accessible?
No there's going be a huge gap. Archivists are not what you call your everyday normie.
Cyberpunk is always clamped down. We're par for the course. The untamed internet was supposed to be the Dark Web.It's sad that we never got to the cyberpunk untamed VR internet before the clamp was brought down, now there's always going to be hackers and the like, but you'll be going up against the law if you want the internet to be anything but brainwashing.
Right, the idea is that the only people using a free web are those willing to hack it, hence the punk angle, right?Cyberpunk is always clamped down. We're par for the course. The untamed internet was supposed to be the Dark Web.
Yahoo Answers was a goldmine. Half of the shit on there was people either trolling or asking ludicrously idiotic questions that the average 8th-grader should know the answer to. It will be missed.I'll miss the memes that were generated from the Questions themselves.
I miss not needing a phone number to make an account really anywhere / being hounded for it at some random time. I can't wait until I need 100% real ID to troll : /luckily back then you didn't need a phone number to make a new Yahoo account lol
yahoo auctionsSo now Yahoo has literally nothing going for it whatsoever, except maybe a mediocre email service and Yahoo! Finances.
I actually prefer Yahoo mail to all of the other email service. No forced grouping of email chains (meaning you look at them one at a time, not forcing you to only view them as a collective group allowing you greater ease to delete/save the emails that are relevant and delete the ones which aren't) and easier search engine for finding old emails and archiving messages in individual folders; all things that you can't do in Gmail. So now Yahoo has literally nothing going for it whatsoever, except maybe a mediocre email service and Yahoo! Finances.
I know they're owned by Verizon or something now, but i honestly don't fucking know why they believe stripping so many functions away from Yahoo somehow will make the site more profitable. If anything Yahoo! was meant to be an all-purpose internet portal.
