Following a long-term diet, I basically lost interest in eating, let alone deriving enjoyment hereof, so the natural solution was going vegan. Adding on that, blending up shit seemed like a good alternative to make nutrition even less interesting.

I've only started doing smoothies for breakfast and honestly can't tell if they're filling or not. Anyone got some tried-and-true recipes that don't require 10 cans of ingredients from each corner of the world?

I mostly do oats, fruits and nuts as per current day, but it piqued my interest doing greens in the future. Is anything actually lost during the blending process in terms of contents? Can't imagine oats are as much of a slow burn when blended into mush.

Oats give a weird taste though, I put it in neutral protein powder to keep me fuller longer I also saw people add in greens like baby spinach/cucumber I tried with cucumber once but it had some nasty after-taste. I usually get those frozen berries/banana/strawberries or freeze them myself the night before add some water, a bit of non dairy milk ,ice, protein powder (1 scoop) and blend everything

I think you can find frozen fruits made for smoothies specifically

There was this great product that sadly went away a few years ago. It's like Soylent but without the soy. It was a meal replacement made entirely from different kinds of seeds and it had 100% of all the nutrition you needed. I stocked up on a bunch of it before the company went under. My preferred way to consume it is to add it into an anti-oxidant fruit mix I buy from the frozen food section at my grocer, add milk, and blend. When my supply runs out I'll be looking for something to replace it.

I've tried going a few days with only consuming this smoothie, but I found pretty quickly that while I wasn't hungry I would still have a strong desire to eat something, to chew something. Now I just have it for a quick breakfast.

So you lost enjoyment from eating food and your solution is a crazy fad "diet"/eating disorder based on tasteless "food", that has a proven side effect of making you depressed and anhedonic, so you derive even less enjoyment from food?

Damn nigga that's some galaxy brain shit right there

I mean by the sound of it the most you're going to lose is fiber, but given you're liquidating your whole diet I doubt that's going to matter.

Anybody else here ever gone full smoothie before? I think OP should be worried about their bowels becoming a sluice gate.

Basic smoothie:

- pineapple
- berries and/or kiwi
- (banana optional)
- (yogurt optional)
- chia seeds

Soak the chia seeds for like 15-20 minutes so they become gelatinous. They will provide a delectable texture for the smoothie, as was as some protein. Then blend that mofo. Pineapple provides most of the liquidy bulk. Everything else is for flavor. Yogurt can be a nice thickener.
