as the MRAs have correctly pointed out, there is currently a huge sentencing-disparity between men & women.

women go to jail for manslaughter more often than murder. they all claim to be beat up by men etc & thereby lower their sentence.

women lifers who get 1st degree murder convictions are usually women who killed their own children or nurses who killed patients, etc.
its really difficult to convict women of 'murdering' men in today's ultra-PC climate, unless he is outright old or disabled & couldn't have beat her up.

Unfortunately even child pornography might not get him substantial jail time. The BC Court of Appeal struck down the mandatory minimum in late 2018 and gave the accused a conditional sentence (a sort of probation). The accused had very poor cognitive function and was deemed low risk. I wouldn’t be surprised if Yaniv tried to pull something similar.

Stricter conditions might be imposed. Committing more offences is a breach of the first condition of every recognizance, which is to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. The Crown usually seeks a cash bond when they’re concerned about a flight risk, but not necessarily when they’re concerned about more offences. He will likely face more conditions like reporting to a bail supervisor, abstaining from substances, etc.

Assault is a pretty minor charge in Canada - he wouldn’t even be entitled to legal aid. It would usually be considered disproportionate to remand him on a charge that wouldn’t carry prison time.

I think this alone is proof that english-speaking countries are not run by actual humans.

We don't have a lot, but we have some. One stands out enough to actually be stuck with a 'dangerous offender' status, which means she's NEVER getting out, and is treated like an extra in a Vin Diesel 'Riddick' space-prison movie Even in Canadian prison.

Also there's several cases of male pedos getting not just beaten on a regular basis, but killed inside Canadian prisons, including my favourite case where 10 years ago prisoners threw a riot to cover the murder of a kiddie fiddler in Mountain prison.

As I said, Canadian prisons arent nice places at all. It's a shame Yaniv won't be going to one....yet.

Wouldn't this just encourage men facing 20-to-life in prison to "accidentally" fully remove and or mutilate their penises? Generally, women are smaller and weaker than men even if the men have no functioning penis. What if the man claiming to be a woman argues that requiring him to amputate his penis is a violation of his human rights? So many strange questions, so many disturbing answers.

Wouldn't the same thing happen if they were diverted to other mental health facilities? They'd be housed with women patients.

I agree with the note that was made by a fellow GC Feminist on twitter that it is a shame the victory of arrest couldn't go to one of Yaniv's underaged victims, but let's hope we see those charges introduced. We still have time! 2+ Court appearances in early Feb and charges can be added literally at any time.

As noted in the TPM article (I did not write it, but added to it), the civil suits brought by KB and AEH can continue REGARDLESS of if Yaniv is tossed in clank-city. AEH's lawyers have issued a demand for retraction and apology on the sexual assault claim, and we know Yaniv won't be giving that, so her civil suit will likely proceed as normal.

On the off-chance that Yaniv DOES retreat, false report charges could occur, yes? Yes.

Fun times. Fast times in 2020. What a year so far. We are only 2? 3 weeks in and this has already proven itself to be on track to being a great year for me, don't know about y'all.

Well that's one way to deal with the problem. Guy decides he's a girl, gets his mandatory transfer to a female prison, knocks up a girl, and the judge decides the easiest thing to do is just release him!

Fantasies of "prison justice" are just fantasy guys. While inmate violence has increased in Canadian prisons ( https://www.theglobeandmail.com/new...ghout-canadian-prison-system/article33295905/ ) inmate violence pales in comparison to the USA or UK.

Further, even if he did get sentenced to incarceration, there would be other options before The Big House. For low level weapons and assault charges *if* he was sentenced to prison it would be for a few days or weeks, not years. He would be eligible to serve his time on weekends ( http://lawfacts.ca/node/66 ) simply by demonstrating a need to take care his mom, or house, or his pathetic business, or citing financial need to work at a Kwicki Mart. Beyond that, a judge could offer house arrest.

In Canada the focus is on rehabilitation and restorative justice, and less on punitive justice. The system here also doesn't sway to mob justice or revenge justice.

I post this only because it is important to manage one's expectations on this. In all of B.C. there are only around 2600 people in real jail ( https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/.../corrections/about-us/divisions/adult-custody ).

Further, he would not be in the federal system unless he's sentenced to more than 2 years. Federal prison here is so lax that many judges sentence the really {bad} people to "two years less a day" to keep them in provincial jails where they at least have to serve 2/3rds of their sentence, have fewer privileges etc.

:/ we don't do criminal justice very well here in Canada and the focus is more about the inmate comfort than on the crime they committed.

Unfortunately, there was a case about a year ago where a dude who sexually exploited mentally handicapped women petitioned the court to get transferred to a woman's prison and succeeded. Judge wasn't happy about doing it, but his hands were tied.

If Yaniv doesn't get sent to a women's facility, he can bring a motion forward to get transferred there. Unfortunate, but it's the state of things here.

That was the UK though, which is far more fucked than Canada.

The thing I think is promising, though, is that at least if Canada has probation provisions in place, it's unlikely JY has the control over himself necessary to keep his nose clean for the duration.

Whenever you hear about someone in the US ending up imprisoned for a crazy long time for seemingly tiny crimes, it's usually because they're a frequent violator of probation or parole conditions. Sometimes it's legitimately difficult for people to meet all the conditions they're given, other jailbirds don't care or think the rules don't apply to them.

In the US, even if you're only serving a couple of actual days in a jail, you may very well be subject to a year or more of probation. There is no way in fuck Johnny can be a good boy for a year. The last year has seen escalations almost every week.
