I don't think he wants to represent the babysitter guy. I think he's talking about applying for intervener status, which is when an interested third party (often the government or a public interest or advocacy group) is granted permission by the court to to make submissions regarding whatever legal issues are at play. I have no idea if the HRT even allows for interveners. If they do, I don't see them ever giving that status to our boy Jon.

Interveners are only allowed in major cases, which this one is not - both the Court of Appeal of Alberta and the Supreme Court of Canada refused to hear the guy when he tried to appeal the decision against him in a similar case (but against a mother). Even if it were a major case, I don't see Jonathan having sufficient intelligence or drive to do that.

It's yet another social media stunt (because he can't help but to be an attention-seeker). Perhaps I'm being overly optimistic, but even if people were to support this man (James), once they see our MA'AM of the hour child predator Jonathan Yaniv supporting the case, public support for James might dwindle (which I'd imagine would already be very little to begin with) because of people being not wanting to be associated with Yaniv, and the idea that support for a case of this type would come from pedos.
