Willing it into existence would change the timeline resulting in Game Freak and the Pokemon Company having a huge redemption arc instead of becoming the joke it is today.

God, no, not the XComs. I admit, so far I played only the first one of the "new" XComs, but it's so terrifyingly dumbed down for the gamepad audience it's not even funny.

It's definitely dumbed down but it the best example I can think of. You have a strategic view for base management and tactical view for battles. Instead of base management, it would be the classic laptop view. In battles you can still take aim and target specific body parts. It can make the jump to 3D without cutting the mechanics that made the original game a masterpiece.
