She became active only a day ago, and within the span of 12 hours she's posted loads and loads of videos which are only a few seconds long of her filming herself on the subway, the bus and doing strange rituals in the woods wearing only a bikini and sometimes her underwear.

English doesn't seem to be her first language, she sounds Russian but I'm not 100% sure.

She used to go by the name "Refbatch," and her real name is Anna Matskevich. She's apparently a former professional dancer who's probably suffering from paranoid schizophrenia. She's been uploading thousands of videos to Youtube for 8 years - an average of around 20 a day. Her older youtube account(s) appear to be gone now, though.

I tried to put her recent Russian video titles/descriptions into google translate, but her spelling is so terrible in all languages that it can only make out about every fourth word.

action yes is a sort of fringey lit quarterly and i want to draw some attention to this article because it talks some about the phenomenon of online spectatorship with specific regards to human trainwrecks, which is relevant to what this website is about. it's couched in mostly-meaningless postmodern pretentiousness but it's not really a case of a crazy person writing about a crazy person--it's a little more complex than that.

also, for what its worth, mid-way through the article the author details a number of facts (probably too long to quote, reasonably) that suggest that refbatch, either in whole or in part, is part of an elaborate ruse. it's probably legit, all things considered, but worth reading through anyway.

Oh damn, I used to keep up with this chick like three or four years ago, watched her videos from time to time. Figured she died or something. She doesn't really seem like too much of a lolcow though, never seen her really interact with anyone, save for a couple videos of her screaming gibberish at people in a park. This looks like her Steam account. She's got 100 hours in DOTA 2 and has played as recently as July 30th. She also wrote this absolutely incomprehensible guide for the game.

Oddly, she's also got 29 other games on that account (mostly Valve bundles), but she's never touched any of them.

Interesting 'deep dive' into refbatch i came across for those who may be interested. I had suspected that she may be some sort of victim of political silencing (in addition to being genuinely insane) given some of the translatable portions of her rants. It is still relatively common for the Russians to dub political dissidents as mentally ill and have them forced into treatment from what I've read. This likely happened to her.

Apologies if this is totally irrelevant and all previously established information. Late posting.
