Although I know all of you consider yourselves to be gamers of the highest pedigree, each of you having killed mountains of zombies, robots, monsters, nameless guards, faceless grunts, and generic baddies- I also believe that deep down inside- you hide a secret of three. You enjoy a game or a series that other gamers or critics hate. But you hold it close because for one reason or another, something about it calls to you and makes you look past it's numerous flaws.

For me...
Earth Defense Force 2025. It's a game that knows it's mental and goes with it. I have put dozens of hours into this game and I'm not even close to tired with killing literal oceans of giant enemy ants, spiders, and robotic kill machines. Plus, EDF 2025 has four different classes to choose from, and each of them bring something new to the table and feel totally different from one another. Easily in my top 3 best games of 2014.
Prototype and Prototype 2. It still pisses me off that Activision canned the studio that made this series. Yes, I know, they essentially took the game engine from a Hulk game, but I really don't give a shit. Hulk kicks ass. And yeah, I know it got compared to InFamous since they came out the same time, etc. I've played InFamous 2 and frankly, I still much prefer Alex Mercer over Cole McGrath any day of the week. It just comes down to which one makes me feel more superhuman, and Merer does that infinitely better. Plus, I don't have to put up with any binary good-or-evil bullshit.
Deadly Premonition. Yeah, it's a cult classic game but the game is still... well... it's still Deadly Premonition. The music is bonkers, the character models are terrfying, and to call the gameplay "broken" is giving it a compliment. And yet, I still fucking love it. As in, bought this game three times love it. I've eaten "sinner's sandwiches" love it. Drive through the countryside playing the "Whistle theme" love it. This game is just wonderful in its own insane, demented way and I wouldn't change a single thing with it.
