The funniest thing is that people are calling it "censorship". It's not. You can still post whatever the fuck you want, you can post your 5-10 minute tirades on why cultural appropriation is bad or why certain people like Anita Sarkeesian are crazy. You can post your reaction videos and all that stuff... go ahead dude. You're just not getting paid for it.

Their best response to this is that they won't have any money to make more videos, so they're being censored that way. Even though most of the people saying this shit just talk in their bedrooms on already-purchased equipment. What they have to say is so very important, but they can't be bothered to say it unless they get paid. . It makes you wonder if they are really so passionate after all.

That's pretty much what it is; I mean if it's one or two videos being demonetized due to rules, that's slightly petty and not a big deal, however if you're like some youtubers (like a smaller one i'm a fan of) that have their whole channel demonetized with no explanation I can get why you would be slightly mad about it- but only because there is currently no chance to appeal at the moment (i believe).

This will sound heartless, but this exact thing is why people say "don't quit your day job". Maybe the smarter thing for people on youtube to do is working a regular job or even a part-time job, at least they're not looking to a sole unreliable way to get paid. I mean a lot of people are getting hit, so it can't be a very stable job. Especially if youtube will just pull any money you get paid quicker than you can say "like, comment and subscribe"

I've got a buddy that has a YouTube channel that regularly updates and he doesn't monetize anything since it's just for fun. 'Couse he was smart and has a regular 9 to 5 and doesn't rely on a bursting bubble for a paycheck. Like, how hard is it to record your dumb ass playing video games for an hour or reacting to other people's shitty content, editing it and then uploading it to someone else's website?

These idiots deserve to fail.
