Trigger Grumps is a Tumblr blog dedicated to pointing out "Triggers" in episodes of the popular let's play series, "Game Grumps"

What are these "Triggers" you may ask? Why, just about every joke on the show, apparently.

And it's more than just the jokes, too. It considers things like the word crazy, loud noises, mentions of food, and references to spiders as triggers. It's so extreme to the point that, if taken out of the context of Tumblr, you'd swear it was satire.

When the blog owner is given ingenious advice like, say, just getting off the internet if they're offended by trivial things that functional members of society experience daily, they often reply with some small text wall variation of "STOP TRIGGERING ME, SHITLORD!"

This thread was originally for a Tumblr blog called Trigger Grumps, however, as Erica pointed out early on in the thread, there are numerous blogs dedicated to documenting trigger warnings in popular YouTube shows, and all of said blogs are very similar in format and style so I thought it seemed appropriate to make the thread about them in general. The first OP above has all the info you need on the subject. Here are some screenshots of the Trigger Grumps blog and links to numerous other "trigger" blogs.

Although the blog hasn't been as active as others, the blog owner has recently been reaching out to people to try and get mods and writers to make more ridiculous trigger warnings for Game Grumps.

If he really wants to make Game Grumps episodes accessible to a diverse population, he should be typing out closed captions of each episode for the deaf and prose descriptions of the video so that blind people can have their narration software read it to them. He should open a Patreon and turn this into a lucrative social justice-focused business.

On a serious note, why would anyone waste their time writing trigger warnings for Let's Play videos? Is this the worst possible use of your free time that someone could do?

I read several pages of the blog its self and I'm honestly surprised it isn't satire too. Its for fuckin real though, someone spent ridiculous amount of time chronicling and time coding every little possible thing on a Let's Play show. I'm even more surprised at the level of minutia that they're willing to go to...food...REALLY!? FOOD TRIGGER WARNING?!

See I wonder this, let's take these retards at face value just for the sake of argument. Let's say someone with an eating disorder reads this blog because they want to watch the Game Grumps but would shit their pants if food is mentioned. Wouldn't reading the food described in the trigger warnings also trigger them?

What's more, Let's Plays are nearly always spontaneous and the games usually put the player under pressure, especially if it's one they haven't played before, so of course people are going to say stupid/offensive shit during Let's Plays. Learn to expect this sort of thing or don't subject yourself to it.
