Youtubers union teasing something big on 22nd July - Herr Sprave will show you its features.

  • Intermittent Denial of Service attack is causing downtime. Looks like a kiddie 5 min rental. Looking into some solutions.

Jörg Sprave of the Slingshot channel fame is by his own words plotting something "big" for Youtube community and promised to show the world its features on the 22nd July.
This thread is for speculation, what is he plotting and for subsequent discussion after the reveal, which may or may not turn out to be a nothingburger.

Sprave's statement in the capacity of Youtubers Union's spokesman:

My fellow Union members,
In exactly one week (on July 22nd), we will issue a press release with news that will hit the YouTube community like a bomb.
I know that it may seem to you that nothing has happened in the YouTubers Union, however that is not the case. I have worked like a madman to get things rolling, but I was bound to remain silent as long as the negotiations were still going on. This will end in seven days.
The news will be very exciting. We are about to write YouTube history, for the benefit of the creators but in the end for the benefit of all that is YouTube.
I can't go into details yet, but what is about to happen will make headlines, globally. We finally get into a position of strength in our fight against YouTube's unfair policies.
Stay tuned my friends, I can't wait to break the news to you as well.

Like a union would work against the new cable TV.

All Susan Woj cares about is censoring wrongthink and bringing in the SFW late-night hosts in to replace it. They're not in the moral authority to decide people's politics.
While one does not disagree with your assessment about the policies of the Youtube leadership, one can not agree with your lukewarm take on the direction of the said union. Youtubers are in constant fear of getting removed/demonetized at the drop of the hat, so they are obviously striving for more consistent policies and transparency.
The language of this pre-announcement suggests, that Herr Sprave believes they have acquired a stick to beat Youtube over the head with. Likely something from the EU, possibly GDPR related. We'll see soon.

Alphabet made $136 billion in revenue in 2018. Do they really care if the GDPR hits them with a fine?

Google has the money to pay out whatever the EU hits them with. There's millions of channels on the site and a few hundred or even a thousand channels (a very :optimistic: amount of channels at that) won't threaten YouTube's viewcount that much anyway.

Plus I looked at the site of this so called union - it looks very default template and SEO engines don't really pick up on that very well. Call me skeptic, but I doubt it'll work.

Which one? Do you mean Juan? Is Juan your friend or is Juan your name and you're like Rickey Henderson or LeBron James?

Actually I genuinely wish it was your name and you were a half mad megalomaniac, that would be less obnoxious than using one.

nothing is going to happen, and who is this guy in the first place?
Quite successful youtuber, head of Youtubers Union organization (250 members?), although looking through their materials, it seems, he is the only person actually doing something in this group.

Typical Sprave video:

What the fuck is so fearsome about the words "me" and "I"?

And what the fuck leverage do YouTube doors have here?

YouTube isn't pushing its own moral ideas, it's fumbling around trying to keep advertisers from jumping ship and going about it in the most destructive way possible.
The only way it can keep money coming in is taking ad revenue(and 30% of each superchat transaction) and if they can expand the list of topics that allow them to claim that revenue while signalling to advertisers that they're some sort of arbiters then they absolutely will.

I'm not sure if their "union" knows this and is just trying to melk sympathy views(and subsequently demonetized into the ground) or they're just that stupid.

Yeah, none of this is true, this is all just waffle and straight faced lie to justify their draconian policies - allegedly for our own good, as proven by several leaks from Google, their parent company. For every one advertiser scared away for a moment by screaming twitter/media communist lynch mob, who is bound to run out of steam sooner, rather than later or find a new victim, there are two to take their place.

It doesn't help that financial people tend to be extremely skittish. Remember Rupert Murdoch's two advertiser boycott waves and the advertiser boycott wave that was started by a wannabe celebrity that couldn't get anywhere.
When the Associated Press got hijacked back in 2014 by the "Syrian Electronic Army", the hijackers put out fake news about Obama being injured from an explosion.
What happened after the fake news about Obama's injury was stock-holders selling like crazy, only to have the stocks be sold to new holders a day later, losing about 1% of Dow Jones' worth after the day was out.
