He also doesn't realize that if the VP dies or steps down or is arrested, the Speaker of the House will become president, and right now that's Paul Ryan, another Republican, and after him there's another 15 or so people.

Ironically, he is right. There is an infinitestimal chance won't be president: the electoral college doesn't vote until December and their electors can always break their state laws to vote for candidates whom are not their state's winners.

In his mind if Pence went to jail for killing Trump then neither would be president.
