I've been getting a lot of questions from people lately about why my twitter shows as suspended, and as much as I'd like to tell everyone what's going on, I obviously can't do that on twitter just yet. If any of you want to forward this to interested parties, I'd appreciate it.

Two days ago a person (possibly multiple people) reported a banner I was using as "sensitive content". The image was of the latest picture where nick has someone behind him with a snoot under his tail, although cropped in a way that showed nothing explicit, and any and all fluids were edited out of the image. At best, the image was suggestive. I would attach it here, but I'm not sure I could have the post be public, if said image really is that spicy.

Twitter notified me by email that account was suspended, and that I would need to log back in to the account to remove the offending header and reopen the account. Except the verification page that sends you an email with a link wasn't sending me emails. I tried several different emails, checked the spam folder, made sure there were no filters, and still no email.

So I made a support ticket to twitter about not being able to get in, as well as an appeal to the suspension. Nothing. Waited two days, and I got a fresh, suspiciously robotic email today that reads as attached:

What's limited features? What's the allotted time? I have no idea, but I guess we'll see what happens. None of the reports I've made about targeted harassment have ever resulting in more than "sorry, guess you should just block them if you don't like what they say."

It's been pointed out to me that a few people are celebrating being a part of this:

You'd think people who threaten users for even following me wouldn't be all that familiar with what my header was, but they were right on top of flagging it. It reminds me a lot of when my patreon was put on hold because of targeted mass flagging by said people, only to be reopened again. For the record, people send in false flags to patreon quite often hoping a new hire won't see it for the harassment that it is.

For anyone that's inconvenienced by this, I apologize. I don't really use twitter all that often, but it serves as an alternative archive for my work. I imagine it inconveniences those who rely on that, more than it does for me. I'm sure the email verification issue will be resolved soon.

Let's not forget this guy was exposed more than twice for horrendous shit like this.

Most accusations at fur cons get ignored not because of the aggressor playing the autism card, but because furry cons are such a colossal hotbed of wackjobs so it's genuinely difficult to find out if the victim is telling the truth themselves or a full-blown paranoid schizo until after the fact. This by no means is meant to imply that there aren't rapists at fur cons because of fucking course there are, but that finding out who is and who isn't takes a lot longer than you'd think because everyone there is so exceptional that the only way to find out who is telling the truth is by waiting for offenders to do it to more than five people and relying on weight of opinion.

I'm not trying to victim blame here either; it's hardly a secret that the reason these conventions have so many prevalent sexual assault scandals is specifically because there's so many mentally ill people in the fandom. It's not uncommon at all for rapists to go after mentally ill people because they're easier to manipulate than someone who has a solid set of boundaries and can pick up on subtle social queues that are blaring behavioral alarms. Additionally, nobody wants to call the cops at a furry con to ruin the party; with all the drugs and sex going on, the last thing the fandom wants is more ridicule despite the fact it has very much earned it.

THe main driver of all of this is inherently the way the fandom Is built. It has no leader, and all who are seen as "popular" hold no true power or say since. The responsibility falls down into the individual, making them decide what is right and wrong through their personal standards and views on topics. However becuase furries mainly attract the social outcasts and absolut autists of the world this make sense the whole thing beyond flawed. Because their isnt the really any higher authority to keep them in place. So they can just do what the fuck they want becuase no one USB watching over them. The whole thing is bound to fall apart.
