What's to gain? The fandom was a way to label and identify with a certain kind of uwu soft crowd. Now there's literally nothing to gain from associating with it. Every damn fandom and game community and anything has their own way of identifying these days, and not half of them are OC based.
Do people even use FA anymore? Ever since I quit and years leading up to it, I never saw /anyone/ refer to it for journals or commissions or information or anything. It's a glorified public backup. Zaush, you dumb motherfucker. I don't know if anybody has ever told you this but your drawings exist in reality. Like as much as you can say that drawings are fantasy and are therefore not subject to any criticism because "it's not real lol", I think there's an equal argument to make that in the act of creating something (digital or not, "pretend" or not) you are effectively making it a form of real, tangible object to be observed and interacted with by others. You aren't acting out the actions in the drawings (hopefully) but in drawing them and especially in posting them on the internet you are ensuring that they are outside of your cavernous fucking skull, and they can be taken and used by other people who exist in reality to harm other people who, surprise surprise, also exist in reality.
The main reason they keep failing to keep it to fantasy is because they would have done it whether there was fictional depictions of their fetishes. I'm not gonna say stupid things like how loli art stopped people from touching real kids because there's no evidence to back that up. What I will say is that the people who wouldn't be able to keep it to fantasy were going to do it regardless of whether they had art to vent those fantasies or not.
