Zelda BoTW - Season Pass Announcement -

  • Intermittent Denial of Service attack is causing downtime. Looks like a kiddie 5 min rental. Looking into some solutions.

Every day nintendo proves my point that Breath of the wild is The Witcher for casuals
Honestly, people have been begging Nintendo for this type of Zelda game for years, "make an open world Zelda!" Nintendo listens to their fans and delivers. I guarantee you that this will be the most divisive Zelda game to date and will be a lesson to Nintendo that you shouldn't always listen to your fans, because it isn't a Zelda game for everyone.

Let the "It's okay when Nintendo does it!" commence.

Didn't Hyrule Warriors have a Season Pass as well?

In any case, I think FromSoft beat them in the "It's okay when x does it!" when they did the Dark Souls 2 and 3 Season Passes. Granted, the whole "it's okay when FromSoft does it!" stems from Dark Souls 2's season pass offering three quality expansions. We'll have to see what 3's second DLC is gonna be like before the final word can be said on that.

Not a fan of this shit but if done right DLCs can be good expansion packs for the game. Not getting the Switch but DLC #1 seems ok but hope they did it right (Which has hard difficulty lolwut and a new map which I hope will be big too to expand the game further making the price worth it)

Ok the second pack with the new dungeon and story sounds interesting, but I can't really say the same for the rest, and it really sucks you can't buy them individually. Either way I won't be rushing to buy the expansion pack once the game comes out.

Nintendo fanboys are the worst. They will defend everything bad Nintendo does like that Nintendo Creator Program on Youtube that hurt the people who just want to play their games.

They are still hurt because Fire emblem is going to have shitload of games but Metroid is death, like death death

Or, like John Flynt, they'll attack everything Nintendo does for being problematic and then buy all their shit anyway.

Hmmm. I'm honestly pretty pro DLC, but the season pass itself seems...pretty shitty. Like a hardmode, and some treasure boxes?

No, it hurts people who want to be paid to show Nintendo content to the public without asking permission.

Get fucked, youtubers!

The DLC for Mario Kart 8 and Hyrule Warriors was pretty good, so I am happy to wait and see.
I don't know about Hyrule Warriors, but Mario Kart 8's DLC was a lot easier to stomach because you effectively got another fifty percent worth of content for less than a third of the price. It was a lot easier to read ahead of time. There's also the fact that they only announced it after the game had already been released and people had an idea of what to expect.

With this, as it stands, we just gotta take their word for it, and as much as I'd like to think that this will be worth the money, I get the feeling Nintendo is actively trying to make itself fall over. They effectively went into a new generation while their competitors showed no sign of leaving it yet (seeing how PS4 Pro and Scorpio are more akin to half-steps and not completely new consoles), their strategy relies on releasing just a couple games and hoping that the third party support sticks for once and their advertisments still seem to chase the casual market despite the fact that audience fucked off to mobile phones before the WiiU even released, and it's scheduled to cost more than its current competition even without recommended accessories like the Pro Controller. It's clear they're going for the long haul, but the question is if the customers and publishers have the patience to stick with that after the WiiU has been dropped like a hot potato.

They're still doing day one DLC, if they kept their mouth shut until the game was released and sold well, they'd have a better reception.

Metal Gear went open-world and that worked out fabulously.
I have faith in this.
I wasn't the biggest fan of Metal Gear 5 tbh, it was fun but it was the only MGS I didn't finish.

I don't really see Zelda working as an open word game but tbf I haven't played one since Majora's Mask so maybe it'll work out. I guess we'll find out.

MGSV was fine to me, just unfinished to hell and back. Lots of loose ends. If it weren't for a few plot points, this could easily be erased from the Metal Gear lore.
But yeah, the game mechanics for BotW seem interesting enough. We'll have to see.
