The theory is that this has caused a cascading salt explosion, and it involves so many other people who are her associates that it warrants its own thread. Nora, Izzy, Terra and a whole host of others are coming out of the woodwork on this.

What they need to understand is that they are not being harassed. Having your personal info published with people giving negative critique and laughing at you is not harassment. Receiving threatening calls, emails, messages, tweets, etc. would be harassment. Zinnia of all people should both be able to take the heat and understand how to respond. This is either a smart strategy or an incredibly dim one on her part. Puffing up and making a lot of noise could be effective in getting what she wants done; the squeaky wheel gets the grease. It could also draw more attention to her, which is apparently something she has trouble with when it comes from people like us.

And that is 100% understandable. No one wants all their shit out there for all to see, it can be very precarious. And being an activist, I am sure she gets emails from TERFs, legitimate Nazis, unstable people, etc. But also, as an activist, she needs to learn how to deal with these things in a way that communicates that she is a leader and someone who is worthy of the ears of those affected by the causes that she champions.

What we do here isn't nice. We aren't helping people or urging them to get better. We laugh when their efforts to improve blow up in their faces. That said, we can only impact a cow's life as much as they want us to impact their life. Few of us have seen any lolcows in person, and if so almost every instance of it has been by some weird chance (at a convention, happened to go to the same school, etc.). So we lack the capability to harm them IRL.

What it always comes down to though, is their threads. They have threads jam-packed with information. Screen caps, archives, links, video, audio recordings. All of these things contributing evidence to the hypothesis that the person is a lolcow. Taken in conglomerate, all of this information paints the picture of a total loser. An idiot. Someone who is easily angered and who will take life's frustrations out on social media. Once we archive, cap, mirror this information its here forever.

So what's this really all about? It isn't that we are harassing, stalking, abusing or hurting them. This information that we critique is true or reported to us to be true and scrutinized and gained from the most public of social media or described to us by people with personal stories of interactions with the cow. It isn't that we are doing any of these things, it is that we have become a repository of truth. And because we hold all this information that is easily verified, they have no other choice than to use the lie that we are these things to garner support. They use Terryberry. They use Lizzie. They say we have broken into their homes or sought them out IRL. They know that one another haven't experienced this. They know Lizzie was a one sentence mention on KF and likely never even knew that. They know that Terryberry ended her life in the middle of a breakup with an abusive BF.

BUT THEY DO NOT CARE

They will still lie about the dead, libel us and threaten outright violence against us. And what will we do in return? Laugh in their face. @Vitriol has a saying "If you're mad, you're the cow", and this applies here. Zinnia getting whipped up in a tizzy over this is natural, but an activist should have a modicum of self-control and should understand the consequences of their actions. Sure she may or may not get what she wants, but she has also caused a lot of stress and anxiety for people who we don't know, who we have no interest in talking about and has got their dander up to the point they are saying "COME AT ME" like they believe we are anything more than a league of tubby burnouts eating hot pockets in our parent's basement. She should take a more professional approach to this and could probably get what she wants done more effectively that way.
