I think the main thing that bothers me is that with how sick she was, I wouldn't think she'd be able to stand / walk around much for the last 2-3 months of her life

That’s what makes me think she probably is alive and she’s just ran off to live in germany off the grid, nobody who is on the verge of death within months can be this active having little weddings and catching pokemon at 3 AM.

My point is that if you're constantly in pain / suffering, you're probably waking up at random intervals in the night. I have certain health issues which causes me to wake up 2-3 times a night so that's why I don't find that part weird.

Pokemon Go boosted the spawn rate for rural locations so that people don't have to walk around as much. Ironically, this was before COVID but I think they gave rural areas another bump after it happened. Items are also more accessible now since you get weekly rewards and gifts from people.

I’m guessing these are doctored. Anyway you can verify this doctor/facility exists? I’m guessing she might have gotten ahold of some actual medical documentation and then just altered it to suit her name and narrative.

I’m good at picking apart faked documents in English, pertaining to American institutions but unfortunately have no German language skills or familiarity with their health care system. It’s a shame because dissecting documents like this is usually fun.

I have a feeling she went with German and Germany because it would have been pretty easy to get called out by fellow Americans for posting fake American medical docs in English. But put up some official looking shit written in German and people will just accept her narrative at face value because they don’t speak German and have no clue how things work there.

The letters do generally feel written right and the language used is proper and something you'd get here. What is a bit strange are the typos in the mail from the insurance company, but who knows, the people writing those aren't always the brightest bulbs.

I looked the facility up just now and the name of the doctor from the letter lines up, it is actually only an ambulant facility though, not a hospital, no stationary beds. According to their website, they send people that need that kind of care to a nearby hospital. If she had a stationary stay, then there would need to be a bill from some other place on top.

This would be the obvious answer except thanks to Covid I can’t figure out anyway she got into the country. Americans have been banned from entering Germany, they closed their borders in March 2020 to most travelers, but somehow some random American medical tourist was allowed to enter in fall 2020? I don’t buy it. Americans still aren’t allowed to travel to Germany right now.

I tend to agree with you, but it isn't completely impossible. I guess what I am trying to say is that I can't disprove it. What makes me lean more toward your thought on it is that I had to cancel two different ebay auctions I won from Germany due to both sellers being unable to ship to the US...and yet they are still allowing foreigners in despite this level of caution over non living goods?

I also tend to think this operation she supposedly needed $$$ for was probably already covered by the coverage she had in her home state.

Seems legit to me, billed extra because of "difficult communication", probably because of a language barrier. Kinda fucked up teef.

Also I can't speak for the US but in Germany travel even to the worst regions was never outright forbidden, because that has serious North Korea vibes. Strongly discouraged, yes. "You're on your own if you go and get stuck there", yes. But forbidden, no. We did have borders closed for a bit but frankly rules and regulations that time last year changed so frequently and randomly that it's not even really possible to google what was in effect when. Also people often got around travel restrictions by entering via a different country.

Shipping to the US was incredibly fucked up for a long time though and even I still remember this. Don't know what was up with that shit.

I know someone who is a dual US/German citizen, who went through ungodly paperwork nightmare, several canceled flights, waiting for hours at airports, needing special permissions, etc..just to enter the country with their legal American spouse.

They own a home in Germany, had been living in the USA the past decade, but she was a German passport holder with a American spouse and only after amazing efforts and weeks of paperwork were they finally able to enter Germany last year.

Our embassies are very clear - Americans cannot enter Germany. EU passport holders can, but not Americans.

The only exceptions have been emergency medical or research personnel who can be given special entry visas.

According to the German Embassy in the USA as of even today:

Are U.S. citizens permitted to enter? No (with a few exceptions, see below)
Germany will currently only allow EU citizens, EU residents, and residents of certain other specific countries to enter. The United States is not one of those countries. U.S. citizens traveling to Germany from the United States will not be permitted to enter unless they meet one of only a few narrow exceptions. If you do not meet one of these exceptions but believe your circumstances merit entry to Germany, or if you need clarification, you should contact the German Embassy in Washington D.C. regarding entry permission. The U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Germany cannot give you permission to enter Germany.

And this has been the case for almost a year now. Entry into Germany for Americans, unless via very special permission, is a big NO. The main exception to this rule has been if an American is legally married to a German citizen they will be allowed to enter the country with the citizen spouse.

Yeah, I remember seeing the ballpit tweet during the event itself but I wasn't really into the whole lore of the Zoosadist ring at the time. Going back on that to write up the Convention thread was just a horrifying rediscovery. Still hope whoever entered that pit washed their balls after but like... it's furries. A lot of them are into that shit.
