I know several boomers donating their entire retirement checks to their churches and I'm not sure who to be more annoyed at. Boomers for being idiots, or churches for preying on them.

One thing I am truly jealous of Boomers: Loads of Friends.

I know a Boomer that recently was mourning the death of a close friend. Over his life, this Boomer and his clutch of childhood friends (6 or 7 and their families have been 'thick as thieves'. Sharing their marriages, children, divorces, retirements, etc... In this nursing home, I see that same scenario almost daily.

I am very jealous of that. They all seem to have different political views and migrated to different areas of the country, but still kept in touch (non-internet) to share their lives. I do not know of any Gen-X, Millennial, or Zoomer that treasures friends like that. In a 'no-internet' world people were very (maybe too?) important.

In modernity we are instantly connected but eternally alone. Maybe we can learn from this?

Apparently if I have a job, then I'm not supposed to have the weekend off. Some smug boomer family member accused me of losing my job because I wasn't at work. Be careful listening to anybody 50 and up, because many of them are egotistical.

Only time boomers bug me is when they admonish youngsters for not working their way through college. Like they legit don't understand a degree that cost $3000 in the 70s now costs $60000.

If anything one of my beefs with boomers is how they started the thing with shoehorning every breathing person with a pulse into college at all times. For so many reasons that has been an utter disaster imo. I could rant about this subject all night but won't jack this thread.

Right after September 11th the big Southern evangelical churches really started ramping up that stuff about Israel and the "end times". From that core it kind of just started spreading out through the conservative scene. That's when this stuff really took off.

I think this mostly started in the 80's, can't remember the details but all I can say is that the boomer love for Israel is just another example of their selfishness:
They want the third temple to be built so Jesus can come sooner and bring upon the End times so they can all go to heaven and leave everyone else behind because boomers are that entitled and selfish.
