Ya Boi decided to take a shot at Joe Glass whining about his kickstarter shitting the bed because of books like BZRKR and Power Rangers "pushing" him out of the market to the tune of Rocky's speech about success from Rocky 1. I’m going to be annoyed when Zack inevitably tries to have things like this justify his “crowdfunded comics are dying” stance from a bit ago.

Of course this campaign was going to fail, this guy’s an absolute fucking idiot. What neither the video or his rant mentions is that he started the campaign in question the exact day that the MMPR Kickstarter ended. He effectively missed the rising tide entirely and now he’s blaming the moon for not staying out long enough.

Moreover, though, he’s asking for £35,000 when his last comic campaign did £11,417, and he’s known for making LGBT+ books, already a quite specific niche. I’d assume that asking for over three times the amount that your previous campaign ended at is a braindead move no matter who you are or which platform you use.

I think it's relevant here as far as how it pertains to making and selling comics, the industry's past and future (or lack thereof) which are more Comicgate things. But if someone were to make a post putting the actual work of Lee vs Kirby/Ditko head-to-head, debating their respective merits, that would be more appropriate for the comics sperging thread? That's my understanding anyway.

As a person who's extensively studied all of this, there's a wave of Stan haters coming out but he did more than they give him credit for. Conversely Kirby and Ditko did more than Stan gave them credit for.

Apparently there's a new biography shitting on Stan coming out, so the debate is being dragged out again:

On the subject of Alan Moore, one interesting aspect in the Alan Moore vs Stan Lee debate is that Alan Moore takes an almost polar opposite approach to Stan's 'Marvel method'.

According to Rick Veitch, Moore would always call up a new artist and have long discussions to get to know him - his style and the things he would like to draw.

And subsequently, Moore's scripts almost took the form of long letters to the artist. Scripting and panel descriptions would be insanely detailed, down to the titles of books on the bookshelves, but much of it would not be demanded of the artist, so much as offered to him - apparently Moore would sort of go overboard and then say sorry Rick, feel free to ignore this if it's too much.

So he sort of 'sperged' a script at his artist, in a way, the script being like a personal letter to that artist in the wake of extensive phone interviews.

It's interesting to me because I wonder, would Kirby and Ditko have enjoyed this method of work?

Or, would they prefer the more open/delegated approach of Stan, where they would be left on their own to come up with stuff?

I can't be sure, but I think they would prefer Stan!

I mean who knows. But neither Ditko nor Kirby ever worked with Moore to my knowledge - there's no Moore and Kirby comics, or Moore and Ditko comics, despite the opportunity for collaboration surely being there?

The closest link I know of, is Alan Moore ripping off and parodying Ditko's Mr A with Rorschach, which Moore discusses in the 'In Search of Steve Ditko' documentary. But obviously that's not working with Ditko, that's ripping him off while attempting to satirize him.

Can I talk about this, @TheCosmicWarrior? Is it allowed? I know Alan Moore isn't Comicsgate like you, but this discussion is interesting for the Comicsgate thread, because we can get valuable input on the discussion from prominent, hot new up 'n' coming writers such as @NasserRabadi13.

It's especially interesting to hear from Nasser, because he himself is actually a writer who somehow managed to get "Stan Lee'd" out of a comic by the artist of the comic, the enormous arrogant cuckold Donal DeLay.

I've never done that. I've never said anything but good things about Kirby's work, outside of the fact that Stan Lee made the books better. Kirby is one of my favorite artists but he wouldn't have found the success he had without Stan.

You've got it the other way around, Stan would likely not had the success of early Marvel without Kirby (and Ditko). If Fantastic Four (and Spider Man) were drawn in a 60's era DC or Charlton house style (you could argue the earlier FF issues were to an extent and got more "Kirby" soon on, and can't not mention Sinnot's inks over Kirby evolving) it probably wouldn't have been a success, just another team superhero book that no one cared about.

Kirby was already a consistently working artist. As successful as he would eventually come to be seen? No, but he had far more clout in the industry than Stan did at the time. Kirby could have worked wherever he wanted at that point in his career, Stan was lucky to even be there.

You're ripping on Nasser for agreeing with my post (which was also an agreement with Pilule Noire's post). And in my post I mentioned that Jack Kirby's Fourth World did not resonate with people as well until other writers made the concept work better. Jack Kirby had great ideas, but oftentimes the great ideas someone has need another person to help make the concept work better. That's what Stan Lee did and that is what Nasser was agreeing with. Nobody was discounting Kirby's contributions.

I did mis-speak in my previous post. I was confusing The Eternals not initially being part of Marvel Continuity and thinking that was the Fourth World not being part DC continuity.

Moore met Kirby. But I think Jack Kirby was in his twilight at that point? It would have been 80s before his death in the 90s.

To put this in perspective of Scivergate, if any of the cutthroat tactics employed by company men like Stan the Man in his day were exposed in real time like they are now, you could probably forget about a graceful fade into the sunset. It probably would have meant Stan disappearing for a while before crawling back. Not as severe as what might have happened to Bob Kane had it been common knowledge what he did to Bill Finger. The comic book industry has been a creative sweathouse for so long that I wouldn't be shocked if most of the professionals working inside it were accustomed to pulling some outrageous CYA moves just to stay in the mix.. and that's before the SJW invasion. The extreme pressure to produce has given at least 2 industries in Film and TV a near infinite creative well to draw from but the human toll was steep.

Sciverfrog is by no means the worst to come out of that system, but he is the only one who posts here and tries to use it to his own advantage. The fear and intimidation of not wanting to be excluded from a career doesn't exist here, so I think that's why Ethan is reduced to using the "obsession" card when the red carpet isn't unfurled for him. I personally can't stand the attempted gaslighting, particularly when we have the receipts on his activities all over this thread. For the most part I think he's looking for dirt on his adversaries, especially now that his WC brownnose shirts have been politically discarded. I can't say for sure, but it seems like he's been posting here a lot more since the breakup.

The real reason that I post on KiwiFarms is that nobody wants anything from me here. Therefore, people are honest in a harsh way that I appreciate.

A giant scandal was just revealed on DA Talks and @VIkkiVerse's latest CGDG stream, in that a creator of Preston Poulter's Comicsgate™ and several others were sharing lolicon (cp) in Preston's discord server. The individual in question is one John Lamont, who was previously an entrant in Preston's Comic Contest which took place last year, a contributor to Preston's now defunct Comicsgate™ shared universe and a regular guest on Preston's writer's streams. According to the video previously put out by DA Talks, John Lamont and Preston are old friends from Preston's time living in Los Angeles.

I decided to investigate this further myself to see if there was any truth to the claims and was shocked at the degeneracy that continues to abound within Preston's Comicsgate™ faction. When searching for the term "loli" in Preston's server, I was surprised to discover 40 results, which is obviously 40 too many.

Obviously all images will be censored from here on out.

The majority of the results appear to stem of this John T Lamont, Larry M Holder and another individual called "Can" sharing lolicon pictures and debating the morality of lolicon between themselves in a channel described as a "MGTOW-redpill-blackpill" channel. Again I must stress that the images have been censored so not to break site rules and will be spoilered below.

Oddly enough the response has been rather conciliatory towards the sharing of lolicon, with Otis Stein creator and Kiwifarms member @Skinny describing it as a "gay op". I'm sure Skinny can give us a detailed description about how DA Talks hacked John Lamont's account and shared lolicon in Preston's server?

Skinny is not the only prominent anti-CG personality to be featured in Preston's lolicon server, other such members include @edwin_boyette, Bean from PA, Douglas Ernst, Lorenzo Sleestak and another degenerate Preston orbiter Daddy Darth Lunga [dox].

In Lunga's defense however, he appears to be one of the sole voices telling Preston that the sharing of lolicon in his server is a bad idea, so I guess I have to give credit where credit is due.
