Destiny 2 - Place your bets on how many $40 DLC packs we'll get this time.

no way fag, i like my liver.
also i told above that they do that shit, i literally started playing D2 when blizzard gave it for free and fucking noticed that the writers just make lore in a seasonal way, they do that shit now, toss it away, make new shit and keep the old shit incase they need to rehearse/retcon something.
always.
fucking always.
iirc it wasn't that bad back then, since all the content was still in the game, and they just slowly started with their seasonal shit.
I quit shortly after forsaken, the whole OMG IT'S EVEN BETTER THAN TTK (no it isn't, neck yourself) wanking was the fucking worst, as was the whole design and timegating around it. don't get me wrong, D2's writing was always pretty crap and only got worse over time, especially with forsaken where destiny's version of deadpool got himself killed for being retarded and I'm supposed to care. also the guns look and sound like fucking softairs, that's why you don't let people who start crying when they see the letter G+U+N design that shit.

For too long I've kept hearing this shit over and over and it only brings more tired expressions from me. Every time someone or some playerbase screeches that an update makes a game better like:

No Man's Sky: "Trust me bro, time and updates made it better."
War Thunder and World of Tanks: "Balance update guys, top tier is better again!"
Team Fortress 2 and CS:GO: "Matchmaking and cheaters are gone! Bots are gone too!"
The Division, Warframe and Destiny: "More endgame stuff! Story is getting better too I promise!"
*whatever gachagame here*: "Story event and better F2P mechanics here, best time to join!"

this, it reeks of Stockholm Syndrome. They can't for the love of Christ leave the game and continue this cycle of cope that the new updates will fix the game somehow, that the devs actually give a shit about their promises and plans. Then when they play, its the same shit after a few hours. Seriously, do I give a shit about the Vex, Taken, *insert The X faction here* if they'll just introduce another faction that just means more enemies to shoot? How many times has Bungie said "experience" rather than the actual game itself. I can't trust Bungie anymore, too many diversity hires and too many contradictions all at once.
so, which great 10/10 live service games that only get better over time are you playing these days?

Reactions: The Ugly One
My favorite part of D2 was when they removed the content I paid for. Haven't touched it since. I still have a friend who is hopelessly addicted and buys every $100+ expansion and season pass and buys bundles of the silver for the special ornaments The plot I gather is a mess and it's always a setup for next season where the story will totally pay off.

Jason Jones and Luke Smith are massive faggots who have take Bungie down the worst path.

Lightfall is trash and full of trannys
them reviving Cayde-6 after everyone (and i truly mean everyone) said they would bring him back was just the last straw for me to never stop laughing at their retarded decisions, the new characters from which i see this youtube video by a destiny2 "regular youtuber" are so bland and one dimensional i have to force myself to laugh at their cringe as if i would get so utterly bored my heart would get bored and stop beating.
what, you think i was playing this fucking pile of shit? no way fag.

So, huge news. Apparently, destiny, isn't doing so hot right now, in fact it would appear its doing catastrophically comically fucking bad with literally half the sales they were expecting in a completely unprecedented flop.

Sales at studio were running 45% below projections for year

They had to fire like 100 people, sadly none were writers. The guys who came up with the fucking nezzcafe still have their jobs.

NEARLY FIFTY PERCENT BELOW PROJECTIONS. Literally half the paypigs they had cultivated over the past 10 years said "enough is enough" and decided to fuck off.

I for one am shocked. For some reason it turns out systematically turning half the cast into faggots isn't as succesful a marketing strategy as they thought. Who'd have imagined?

Its sad that people lost their jobs, but I'm kinda happy this happened. Bungie was really pushing monetization to the fucking limit, selling season passes, dungeon pass, summer passes, winter passes, the anniversary pass, ontop of the expansion, plus cosmetics, plus ingame pay to win shit for craftable guns ontop of attrocious fomo, ontop of removing ingame rewards to put them in the story, ontop of systematically reducing the quality of the content, ONTOP of removing old content, ontop of the fucking sunsetting (removing the guns everyone had farmed over the past 5+ years and forcing them to farm them again) and god knows what else at this point.

Watching people vote with their wallets for once feels good, this couldn't have happened to a more deserving target.

OMG IT'S EVEN BETTER THAN TTK

TTK wasn't even that good to begin with in absolute terms. It was just visually different enough from the other things that you could remember it, and not quite as vacuously empty of anything resembling a story, so you had at least a vague idea of what happened if you played through it. It's literally the only DLC where I had any idea of what I was killing beyond, "there's alien robots over there, and you can kill them, so you probably should."

It also had a bunch of QoL features, "light level" balancing, actual questlines for items, and a mystique not datamined on launch that actually felt like you were in the ship actually learning the shit from the fragments you found randomly but were needed for the Touch of Malice quest. TTK was "good" because it fixed what was shit in the base game partially. It was dynamic and felt like you the player actually did something other than shoot the infinitely spawning two factions shooting at each like all the base game locations. It was what all the worlds should've been. Even Rise of Iron had stuff you did in the areas and progression that felt like it was more than just infinitely shooting the same dudes until grind out whatever you needed to.

It helps that it was also more content than three story mission and a two strikes grafted together and called a raid like Crota.

Edit: And it added the two best weapons in all of Destiny: Chaperone and First Curse.

I don't think I used either of those weapons, because whatever random weapon I was using had enough DPS for whatever I was doing...that said, yes, I vaguely remember TTK feeling like a proper video game instead of a few randomly generated fights with no connecting tissue whatsoever. Anyway, at the end of the day, all the praise for TTK comes down to, "you can call it a complete game product with a straight face." I will never get over, "I don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain." God, just come right out and say you were too lazy to bother making anything more than a mindless horde shooter.

They were Tex Mechanica exotics with fairly long quests that had progress gated by week per step that were all around great for PvE and Chaperone being Amanda's shotgun that shot slugs. First Curse was the progenitor to Last Word but instead of hip firing, it's gimmick was chain precision shots and kills to have the highest damage per shot hand cannon have higher range than all other primaries. It was when the meta wasn't hand cannons but pulse rifles for the first time. Chaperone was amazing in PvP until it was nerfed a bit. First Curse melted raid trash and every group thought I was retarded for using it but I maintained the highest damage and kills on both Warpriest and Golgroth. Tether and crits.

TTK is just fondly remembered because, as you said, it was the first time the game felt like half the shit promised instead of reroll the same garbage for no reason for perks that slightly make things better of year one.

Can someone explain why people are freaking out over Bungie shitting the bed? Their game sucks, revenue is down, people got laid off. That's my understanding of it. That's normal, who cares. One friend of mine who still pays attention to this trashfire was being smug and saying that a bunch of the people who got fired were diversity hires which is funny but he didn't really elaborate. Are the remaining Destinyfags going to bat for a bunch of dusty HR cunts?

If you played a lot of Halo 1, 2, and 3, it's sort of like finding out your favorite restaurant from college has gone out of business.

So this thread on twitter was drawing some attention to what kind of people Bungie had on staff:

A couple months ago there was a bunch of talk about Justin Truman's "From Box Products to Live Service" GDC presentation from last year:
Once this was circulated around gaming circles, comments on this youtube video were disabled after lots of negative reactions. I first heard about it from this livestream where Private Sessions and Patrician bitch about it for almost 6 hours. It looks like the leadership at Bungie is taking all the wrong lessons on how to run a live service game.

Tom Christie's Destiny shitpost videos with Skeletor and He-Man are great:

Did anyone participate in the first demo for fireteam finder a few days ago ? Realizing that there's the "women of destiny" and "safe space" tags was hilarious to me as a somewhat casual on this game. During the evening people I met with the finder were all joking about how dumb of an idea it was to have that.

Now all I'm waiting for is the ticking timebomb of a tranny getting kicked from such a lobby and just enjoying the shitshow.
