Antifa was the reason many American soldiers didn't return home. Nazi partisans were none-existant, but Antifa, specifically this exact group, went around killing British and American soldiers in Germany.

If you're asking about the saying itself: The phrase she's quoting just means that a woman remains tied to her parents even after she marries (in contrast to other cultures where the daughter "joins" her husband's family and is expected to care for her in-laws).
If you're asking about why she's mentioning "the south" it's because the US is really fucking big and despite how we're portrayed internationally the country can be pretty easily broken down into distinct cultural regions with their own sets of morals, behaviors, etc.
In most cases these differences are mild thanks to the lack of language barriers, but in others they can be a very real source of conflict. So in the case of the person you're asking about, she's acknowledging the expectations for adult children may be different in OP's part of the country or if the OP's in-laws are from another culture entirely.
