Russian Special Military Operation in the Ukraine - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

Again with the shitty pop culture references? How long will it take the orcs of Mordor to meme the Night King and his thralls?
Omg Putinler is literally the Night King! The invasion of Kyivvv was literally the long night omg NAFO besties, and it lasted just as long!

On this topic can Putin please make the Red Wedding look like a joke? Thanks!

Fitting, as Ukraine last seasons are going to be just as bad or worse than Game of Thrones.
So does that mean we're going to get to see putin ride into kiev on a dragon and burn the city to the ground? If not why not

I suppose this means instead of having an intelligent but dwarf tyrion ukraine will have a batshit crazy cross dressing troon as well. Seems fitting

Anne Applebaum is back at it in the neocon journal of record "the Atlantic".

The new article is "How Ukraine Must Change If It Wants to Win". And as usual with Anne, the content doesn't deliver what the title promises.

She found out that Ukraine's defense minister is a real live muslim and its really made her hot. He is smarter, better, kinder and is the one Ukrainian who obviously isn't associated with any corruption. In fact, she claims that there has never been any corruption in the Ukrainian military since 2022:

"Since 2022, in fact, there has been no suggestion of misused foreign aid or of high-level corruption in the Ukrainian army. But there has been overcharging and waste, just like in the U.S. military—the difference being that if the Ukrainian army has a shortage of winter uniforms because someone has written a bad contract, people might die."

Beyond being just SOOO Muslim, he is also a people person according to Anne. The resistance to military conscription in Ukraine is just a misunderstanding by irrational people frightened of the unknown.

"Umierov’s more important task—Ukraine’s most important task—involves people, not shoes and bullets..... Fear and paranoia about military service are growing; there are reports of people being pressed into the army and of others trying to sneak across borders and swim across rivers in order to dodge mobilization. Umierov understands this, again, both as a narrative problem and a real one. He wants to change the tone of the conversation: “This is not a punishment,” he says of military service. “It’s an honor.” But everyone is afraid of the unknown, he told me, and right now military service involves a lot of unknowns. “People should understand how they will be trained, how they will be fed, how they will be taken care of during the operation. And then how they will exit.” The details are still a matter of debate, but he wants to end the uncertainty, negotiate new rules with the military and with Parliament, create a national military-service database and then give all military-age citizens a clear set of options.

The problem isn't that people don't want to fight, that the conscription process is corrupt and that they are resisting conscription and fleeing the country. According to Anne, its just a "narrative problem" and these people need to taught what a high honor it is to be sent to die in the trenches.

Then she explains the change that both Ukraine and the US need. We need to stop "politicizing disagreements or making a fetish of them" and rather we “we should be focused on the objectives" just like that Muslim guy running the war in Ukraine is.

"focused on the objectives" effectively means that politics should be restricted in the United States to determining the best way to implement the agenda of the neocons and the democratic party. That every debate on Ukraine should be about how the aid is delivered or how much aid is delivered rather than anyone daring to question the whole idea of aid or tying it to other political issues.

"The U.S., meanwhile, is incapable of any kind of decompression: Americans have hardly any debates that are calm, apolitical, and “focused on the objectives.” All of our conversations about Ukraine, just to take one relevant example, are now fully politicized: a part of the Republican Party is opposing aid to Ukraine simply because that harms Joe Biden."

Of course she sees politically attacking the enemies of her and her policies like war in Ukraine as being claim and apolitical. I mean everyone who is "calm and apolitical" like her just wants to support President Biden. And they want to pass a giant aid package for Ukraine, not because it will help Biden in an election year, but because we are "focused on the objectives".

What about negotiations?

"Ukrainians know that negotiations with Russia are fruitless, and in any case not on offer."

The Ukrainians know as Anne does that the only Russian plan is to conquer the entire country and put all the Ukrainians into "concentration camps". By which she means an allusion to nazi style death camps of course.

So according to Anne, the way to save democracy is to eliminate political dissent, have governments adopt a more authoritarian position and to improve their state propaganda organizations to eliminate "misunderstandings" and get people to adopt better "narratives". I mean I'm sure that is going to work for Ukraine and that all sorts of people will be convinced to line up for military service. But maybe not.

This volksturm company containing women will surely bring Ukraine victory.
They're teaching them how to find their bearings with a paper map and a compass? Not saying this is an entirely useless skill with Russia GPS jamming but really? They have a month with these poor bastards and they decide that's a priority?

It is really amazing how much feminism have achived. Now you can draft women and throw them under artillery shells and pretend that your recruitment is going ok becase it's all actually inspiring case of brave strong women fighting for their own country.

People on twitter who support the war effort are quite naive about military stuff, so they belive that a month of western standard(tm) infantry training can turn avrage Oksana into Adeptus Astartes.
Spain is run by shitlib progressives. Even the IDF, literal Jews, have the good sense to keep women away from frontline combat.

To give you some idea how fucked Ukraine is. Their parliament still won't reduce the age limit for conscription from 27 to 25, but they approve rounding up old men, spastics and women to send to the front. Why? Because privileged nepo babies are all doing never ending Masters degrees at the University of Keith and God forbid they should be accidentally included in the draft. Anyway all the low hanging fruit, low income Russian speaking men from the east, are all dead or have fled the country,.

The problem isn't that people don't want to fight, that the conscription process is corrupt and that they are resisting conscription and fleeing the country. According to Anne, its just a "narrative problem" and these people need to taught what a high honor it is to be sent to die in the trenches.

The problem is people don't want to die and being conscripted into the AFU is a guaranteed death sentence at worst and severe traumatic injury at best. Living your life on stumps isn't appealing to most. Maybe if Ukrainian Generals weren't retarded autists and the Ukrainian government wasn't led by failed theatre kids obsessed with muh optics, then maybe they'd retreat to defensible positions, conserve ammo and most importantly preserve the lives of experienced soldiers and construct NCO cadres for the battalions to actually teach conscripts how to last more than a few hours at the front. But alas if wishes were assholes Ukraine would be full of them, which it is.

Was it Churchill who said you can't fool all the people all the time? Which isn't really true, you can fool most of the people all of the time as long as most of the people are complacent, well fed and comfortable. It's not that people believe the bullshit rather they go along with it because why not? We all saw this during Covid. In Ukraine the stakes are a little higher and involve being shipped to the most kinetic warzone in human history with a few days training and 20 rounds for the AK you barely know how to work the safety on. Carry on like this and we're likely to start seeing some serious civil unrest break out.

The US held a secret meeting to discuss peace with various countries and Ukraine last month.according to Bloomberg.

Saudi Arabia was host to the talks. The aim of the talks was supposedly to convince countries outside the G7 in private to adopt the Ukrainian "peace plan". The Ukrainian peace plan being in reality an ultimatum for an unconditional surrender of Russia, massive economic reparations including surrender to international control of the Russian energy industry and war crimes trials for many Russians. The other part of the peace formula is no talking with Russia about peace or even an end to hostilities.

China was not invited. Brazil and the UAE did not attend. Two of the countries they were attempting to strongarm were India and Turkey.

The result of the meeting was supposedly no interest shown by the G7 in changing the Ukrainian peace ultimatum and no interest in talks with Russia. The other countries showed no particular interest in signing on to Ukraine's "peace process".

So this smells like an attempt to what essentially the USA and allies did with Serbia. Get bunch of countries to agree to a peace plan without Serbs involvement more or less. And then when Serbia didn't follow the peace plan. Claim that Serbia violated it and international backed agreement.

Edit

I honestly wonder. Why even attempt this ? This doesn't make the G7 image look good at all among other great powers. Not to mention makes G7 look even more toothless

America expecting Russia to sign a deal worse than the Treaty of Versailles is insane. The shoe will be on the other foot when all is said and done. Turn about is fair play.

Lmao, they just copied their work from July.

While no answer is clear, I believe it is the kind of peace deal talks the West created mid this year, where they talk with everyone but Russia in order to pressure Russia. Here's a similar event with Saudi Arabia in July
