Trying to remember how far out the Wood Elf rework was to launch to see if maybe Beastmen as a whole get something similar. Just not sure if it was a month out for that announcement. Also odd choice for Oxy being a legendary lord, hopefully he's not as bad as TTT.
There is a post by GW on their community site that confirms that the Beastmen as a whole will be getting a rework as well as horde mechanics in general. I don't mind Oxy, but I would have rather had another game 1 race.

My issue is the skink LL's right now offer the most with their mounts hence why TTT is so bad. Maybe Oxy will get some trait to make him more worthwhile than TTT. Granted his campaign sounds more like the Wood Elves new mechanic so interesting how he will be hoping around the map.

The wood elf rework was as close to perfect as it could be, but I'm not holding out hope for beastmen to work as well. CA has been banging their head against the horde mechanic ever since Warriors of Chaos came out and nothing has fixed it. The closest they've got it to being good was Vampire Coast where it's stapled onto a normal faction.

The good thing about that pseudo Wood Elf mechanic for him is that we will likely be able to skip having another LL in Lustria, because that starting location is a shitheap filled with LLs.

Oxyotl is basically the doom guy of the Lizardmen. Just going where he is needed and fucking up Daemons..... Then leaving to go fuck up more daemons. So it is cool to see him.

But, I pretty much agree with people saying it would probably be better if another race saw the new lord instead.

I can't pass judgement on the new Beastmen lord until I see the rework for them as a whole. Cause that will be what decides if I even try him.

Honestly with Nakai being shit after the Coast coming out I am not holding out hope either.

My only issue with Oxy is that I doubt he will get a mount so he is going to need something faction/army wide to make him viable. Just not sure what is more appropriate for him the Skaven Stalking stance or Vanguard for his army along with other minor bonuses. Honestly TTT should have the other one they both seem like either a vanguard/ambush army and I am not sure why they didn't give TTT one of those abilities for his army/faction since both armies seem to do the whole hit and run thing.

Issue is they just completely shit the bed with it. No Battle of Chi Bi/Red Cliffs? For someone who grew up playing a fair bit of Dynasty Warriors having one of the iconic battles of that game and the actual time period missing was a gut punch. I already mentioned the issues with recruiting units and the battle balance, and only later I realized the entire way generals were set up, especially with their skills, was an absolute clusterfuck of complication. Some bonuses affect just retinues, others the army, others specific units in their retinues, and it was just a massive overcomplication. Like yeah, Guan Yu wasn't going to have his guys learn how to fight from Zhang Fei or vice-versa. Strategists were absolutely worthless in the field but you didn't get artillery or non-shit archers without them, etc. Oh, and reforms were locked behind a universal time gate for the Han factions. Not a lot of reason to build schools when aside from Empire and Napoleon this may be the most essential time period to tie teching to schools given how wedded-at-the-hip education and the bureaucracy were.

They absolutely nailed the diplomacy and rivalry stuff, and the family tree and the Imperium stuff was good, but god damn. They fucked up so much other stuff. At least we were spared the indignity of mammoth skull cyclopes.
I was also disappointed that the three kingdoms game never reached the three kingdoms era, although to be honest, the scheming and wars before the formation of the three kingdoms was always the most exciting part of that era

Also how come the trailer music was always so good while the in game soundtrack was so bland?

Really shows how much of a black hole that game was resource wise. If you asked people who have even the most cursory idea of Romance of 3K/Dynasty Warriors to name one important event, Chibi/Red Cliffs would probably be the top named event. Between the "Zhuge Liang does mystical shit" to attacking with fire, to it being the entire reason why there was a 3 kingdoms period instead of Cao Cao steamrolling his way through the other two factions.

Yeah, it's not there. Only there as one of these pre-made battles you can play on quick match. Additionally, at no point do you get to have Sun Quan, the eventual Emperor of Wu as a playable faction leader with his own mechanics. There are so many classic scenes/events that would have been interesting to playthrough. The Shu - Wu conflict starting with Guan Yu's death and Liu Bei's failed campaign. The Nanmen rebellion proper, Zhuge Liang's northern campaigns and face offs with Sima Yi etc.

Massive potential that went unrealized because it didn't have a large engaged playerbase. Multiplayer was dead, and people buying dlcs/playing them for a length of time was going down.

My baseless theory is that their HR/legal team alerted them to this to justify their positions. It's also possible that the possibility of being canceled by the Chinese got to them. It's one thing to have individuals with bad names. It's another thing to have group chats with such names on official servers.

Curious what the next Three Kingdoms game will look like. That game had a lot of problems that can't just be fixed with dlc so I kind of get it even if I'm disappointed. Probably better to make a new game then pump out some low budget Chibi dlc that doesn't feel epic at all.

Amazingly they managed to break the gane harder with DLC or updates. There was one fiasco where they had to roll back the update to the prior version because the new one caused bricking or something serious like that
