Chinese and fans of Three Kingdoms on suicide watch. Confirmed that they have decided to drop it. No further DLC or patches, but they plan on making another game later. Guess people weren't buying it.

Pretty much. It's going as well as you expect with the game being review bombed on steam and the subreddit pushing for people to cancel their Total War Warhammer 3 Pre orders... Right before telling them they can re order it later once they get what they want.
Amazing that they can have a 3 kingdoms game and not have Chibi/battle of Red Cliffs in it.

Look at those review bombs, they even tried to do it to Warhammer 3 (but couldn't) to the point where they pissed other community members off. Knowing how unreasonable and autistic the chinks can be with things like people mentioning Taiwan, I fully expect them to go full autism on the company.
I'm only a little surprised it did mediocrely, since it wasn't like the borefest that Brittania was. My guess is it's just Warhammer blows it so far out of the water.

I'm not surprised to hear they dropped 3K support, it was out of the ordinary for them to actually drop a few extra R2 DLCs so late in its life cycle. Not to mention how much momentum the game bled out after the really bad first DLC release that angered the chinese market.
Might actually buy 3K when its on sale for a deep discount now that its 'feature complete', my interest in it was shallow due to a lack of familiarity and the lack of unit variety.

Dropping 3K? Damn, I liked that one. If they can integrate the seiges and diplomacy from 4K into WH3, it'll be amazing.
I liked a lot of what it did outside of the battles, but they made a big mistake pushing Romance mode into everything, and the battles were just dumb as fuck. A bunch of sabre militia with a few strips of leather for armor and a rattan shield had more charge bonus than the armored and trained Jian Sword Guards, and had more missile block as well. Add in the fact that Charge Reflect vs. Mounted on every single ji unit meant a unit of Ji Militia would get Cataphracts to disembowel themselves on the charge and shit was just way too ridiculous for me to try dealing with. The retinue and general system didn't help matters since you needed generals of both a certain rank and a specific color to get good units, and oh, if units shattered they'd come back for free in a couple turns, no need to spend money re-re-recruiting.
It's telling that as much as it sold well within months the playerbase dropped to half the size of the wh2 playerbase. They tried to approach DLC the same way they did other historical titles (like Shogun 2) with different start dates centuries apart, people didn't like that. They tried DLC with different start dates, was received with mixed reception. Tried adding in the Nanmen as a big pack, that was received about 50/50 good vs bad because it leaned on fantasy too much. The game was pretty much a development black hole and the Chinese and Korean market they hoped to lean on to keep playing didn't work out, so they cut it.
The retardation and peak reddit on that sub atm is both funny and unbearable. I check that for news but it's nonstop posts about people being incredibly gay.

They are just children who have never been told no by anyone in their lives. Every time they don't get their way, they throw a tantrum and some authority figure backs down. The difference is when it comes to money the eternal anglos at CA can outgreed even the nose tribe. No amount of internet whining is going to convince CA to part with even a single solitary shekel on a project they think is done showing a return. But since the average redditard's default stance is to scream and cry until they get what they want, they have not really developed any other coping strategies. So they'll mindlessly putter around for a few days raging into the wind, being ignored by CA, and eventually that rage will peter out like a fart.
Lolwut, it's not going to connect to the first game? At least with the Warhammer trilogy the three games are intended to eventually be one big connected world. 3K still has key moments missing that make the novel memorable. Chibi/Red cliffs, Guan Yu's death at the hands of Wu, Cao Cao dealing with the Ma Clan/solidifying the north before dying, Liu Bei's failed campaign against Wu, Zhuge Liang dealing with the Nanmen and his failed northern campaigns and Sima Yi pulling a coup and creating Jin.
So they are going to have a second game which likely covers those events, but without the ability to connect it to the 1st game. That is pretty sad.
