Personally, I never saw "redneck" as a slur for white people - I thought it was more in reference to people from the South, regardless of their race. You might as well say "cheesehead" is a slur for white people.

Another thing about Asperger's (or what was formally defined as it before the DSM changes) is it's still only about 9% of the Autism spectrum. Think about that for a moment. Even Chris Chan before his breakdown would have been considered apart of that 9% as he was driving and working part time.
The fact is, there are very few Autistic people without speech issues, adaptive functioning problems and an intellectual disability. The bulk of Autistic people are really disabled. That's neurodiversity for you.

I appreciate the vote of confidence, but I must confess I had some issues growing up requiring some behavioral therapy, which I fortunate enough to get. I had a supportive family and I personally wanted to be able to associate with the "normal people" as best as possible.
Autism was never an excuse for my actions, good or bad, nor was it a crutch or something I wanted pity for. I did believe it made me different, but I never thought it made me special in a way that placed me above anyone else, mostly because I was aware in some ways it made me less like everyone I wanted to associate with.
As for having a skewed point of view, one of the things I confess allowed me to avoid that (and I guess being autistic in this regard kinda helped) was a decision from a young age to see the world from a rational point of view. Hence I grew out of the stage where I believed in Santa Claus being real and quite early decided things like becoming Superman were not in the cards for a mere mortal like me.
I was still socially stunted, and to some extent I'm still somewhat of an introvert by nature, but I know how to act like an adult in public if I need to. Then again, it goes back to my decision to make sure I adapted to reality, not wanting reality to adapt to me.
If you ask me, that's what people like the subject of this thread need to accept. The world won't bend to their will, and when they accept that, they'll finally grow as people and overcome their limitations, autism related or otherwise.

We have an 16 year old who's still obsessed with Barney and Elmo, sounds harmless right? Well, he gets borderline violent when he comes up to a random stranger, larping as one of his favorite characters and getting pissed off when the poor guy doesn't understand what's going on. Which is why his dad is taking away his devices (even if it's to get him to do something productive) and he has to deal with tard rage.

Honestly the only good solution I could possibly think of would be to buy one of those "I have autism, please be patient with me" hats for when he does this with strangers because holy shit, none of these people have any helpful advice and they're too up their own asses to admit that they can't help.
The parent needs either an therapist who knows what they're doing or start looking into putting his son into a group home, because that kid isn't going to be accomplishing much of anything once he hits 20. And speaking of which...

The sooner the better, kids/teens/adults with behavioral issues are put on a waiting list because group home staff hates dealing with the violent speds. Which most of the disabled people in group homes tends to be because it's hard to deal with that shit. Hell, it's hard even when your adult child is generally non-violent but still requires around the clock care, or can't be left alone even for a few hours because they're on the same level as a young child. Shits hard no matter what, I don't judge parents who make decisions like this for their disabled children. Especially the violent ones.
So we got a guy in the UK who wants to buy a pair shoes. Simple, right? But due to COVID, everyone is either closed or is sold out. But fortunately, the clothing store at the mall is open.
So he gets the shopping center, and for some reason, the only way to get to the store is by riding the escalator. Strange, because malls generally have an elevator or a flight of stairs; but then again, it's the UK.
But our hero has a sensory issue that kicks in whenever he rides the escalator down and has anxiety issues that are so bad, that he can't be bothered to ask for someone to stop the stairs for him. He also hates the smell of the clothing there and a certain type of carpeting in these stores, but he goes there anyways because he needs his shoes. And what happens when he walks through these areas? He basically goes into a never-ending cycle of paralysis and mutism until he somehow gets away. And instead of shopping online to skip the hassle, it turns out that he can't really tell the difference between a legitimate deal or not.
And due to these anxiety attacks, this guy has to drink a lot, which leads to him answering nature's call more often than you'd expect. Of course, he admits to urinating in public (and almost getting caught) because everything's closed and he can't be bothered to find a way around this.
