Are we really doing the 7 year old tweet thing? Ffs these aren't even racial, "nig" is racially neutral in these tweets
It's not the first time these got dug up and thrown around Twitter. I think people also tried to spread them around when she pissed off a lot of vtweeters with some diss lyrics in one of her songs a year ago.

I think the only reason /vt/ gets so assblasted over Connor is that they all like NTR but none of them will admit to it.
There is a vocal minority of /vt/ that seethes when someone posts about the game NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE partly because its a dark satire of modern e-girls/streamers and internet culture around them:

There is a subset of anons when the game came out who lost their shit from screencaps and instantly started calling it a cuck game because two out of over twenty endings feature Ame leaving P-chan for some famous streamer with a horse head. Allegedly a horse is the symbol of a bull in a cuck relationship in Japanese internet culture.

God, I'd say these idiots should stop speaking english, but I'd be wrong because I have no doubt everyone trying to smear her as racist are all white.

I hate how opportunistic these freaks get whenever they smell blood in the water. Degenerate weebs are dogpiling her for talking to someone they don't like, so twitterfags who like to take down popular figures join in and start dogpiling on her for using words they don't like or they think she can't use.

On June 2, 2018, Hololive debuted Gen 1 Vtuber Akai Haato, to add to their already growing catalouge of Vtubers.
Akai haato.jpg

1 year, 6 months, and 26 days later on December 28, 2019, Kiryu Coco of Hololive Gen 4 debuted with fanfare and excitement.
kiryu coco.jpg

With this, it was all fun and games, everyone had fun and Hololive was quickly gaining traction throughout the globe...
Until two members said the big no-no word that is apparently the equivalent of the N-word for Chinese people: Taiwan

Obviously this was a big deal. Saying the word Taiwan is quite controversial especially for the Chinese. Hololive did have a Chinese branch of Vtubers, so when chinks heard of this, they went ape-shit because why not? With this, On Sept, 27th, Cover corps announces the suspension of both Kiryu Coco and Akai Haato over them saying Taiwan. Although not particularly for saying Taiwan, they go on to say it was because they viewed their channel analytics on streams.

Billibilli, also makes a statement entirely different from the Japanese one which spouts all sort of non-sense about Cover, which causes even more confusion and backlash from Japs and EN to chinks, because included in this nightmare of a statement, was of course CCP propaganda and PR bullshit.

  • COVER apologizes for the mistakes made on stream. Said mistakes do not represent COVER's official stance on the matter.
  • COVER firmly supports the One China Policy, and has always respected China's sovereignty, the Japan-China Joint Communique, and the Treaty of Peace and Friendship between Japan and China.
  • COVER places great importance on their development and progress in China, and respects the feelings of the Chinese people. COVER gratefully accepts any criticism and corrections on this matter, and will strengthen the management and education for our entertainment talents, in order to prevent a repeat of this incident in the future.
This was a pretty big deal, not only was Cover's decision extremely unpopular and controversial, but it was even picked up by some news organizations, and one documented newspaper. This was big news for the time, even trending on Twitter in Japan.

Hololive Vtubers Kiryu Coco and Akai Haato Get 3-Week Suspension for Mentioning Taiwan During a Livestream
by Niche Gamer Staff on September 27, 2020 at 2:00 PM, EDT

We’ve learned some unfortunate news – Hololive vtubers (virtual YouTubers) Kiryu Coco and Akai Haato have been suspended for a few weeks.

Both YouTubers have been suspended for three weeks by their management company Cover for reportedly mentioning Taiwan, when talking about their viewer ratings. The suspension will run from September 28th to October 19th, 2020.

The two performers talked up their viewer analytics during the livestream, and at one point mentioned Taiwan. While Cover says the suspension was because they violated “guidelines and contractual obligations by divulging confidential information,” they were also “making statements insensitive to certain nationalities.”

The last bit, of course, is likely in regards to China and their “One-China” policy, where China claims domain over Taiwan. This goes back to the Chinese Civil War, where the nationalist Republic of China fought against the Communist Party of China, and ultimately lost, facing exile in Taiwan ever since.

After the formation of the communist People’s Republic of China, the stance has been that Taiwan belongs to mainland China, and the PRC. If you even acknowledge Taiwan as an independent entity or mention its name, you run the risk of getting censored entirely from China.

Fans were quick to mention the primary reason for the suspension, talking up their internal analytics, is bogus as members of their virtual performer group have talked about their viewer ratings before. The main difference this time is – as said above, the mere mention of Taiwan.

Hololive has an account on the popular Chinese video sharing and streaming app Bilibili, on which they posted a statement for the suspension as well. This statement actually mentions the One China policy, saying Cover supports the policy. More curiously, the Japanese press release (translated into English) makes no mention of their support for the One China policy.

How do you feel about the suspension? Is Cover trying to avoid getting banned in China? Sound off in the comments below!

Even Taiwan news agencies pick up this story.

Recently, a virtual YouTuber agency company in Japan accidentally touched upon a sensitive, political subject. Two of its employees (Coco and Haachama) mentioned "Taiwan" in their stream, and they even showed our national flag. Such acts make China fans so uncomfortable that they leave comments to show their dissatisfaction. This video has already been taken down. The agency company has released a apology statement that says the two streamers will not have any activity for the next three weeks. The agency company has also stated that it upholds the "One-China Policy."
A newspaper covered the story too.
EjDRvT2UwAADyQP.png
Two Japanese animated live-streamers are the latest victims to come under the wrath of Chinese netizens, and being suspended from live shows on YouTube for three weeks after a segment mentioning Taiwan.

The two digitally-generated presenters, owned by Japanese company Hololive, came under fire after they listed Taiwan as a country in their live streams last week, announcing that the self-ruled island accounted for 4.7% and 7% of each of their worldwide fanbase. A Taiwanese flag was also shown to annotate the figures.

The scenes hit a nerve with mainland Chinese internet users, who subsequently flooded multiple platforms run by Hololive with complaints. This led to the two virtual YouTubers, named Akai Haato and Kiryu Coco, to be suspended from live shows for three weeks.

A virtual YouTuber, or VTuber in short, is a 3D animated presenter created by computer graphics to host live-streams on the popular video-sharing platform YouTube.
In addition to their suspension from YouTube, Akai Haato and Kiryu Coco have also been banned from live-streaming on China’s popular video-sharing site Bilibili, according to news reports.
COVER, Hololive’s parent company, issued a statement on Sunday saying it was suspending the two virtual hosts from live-streams from Monday until Oct. 19 for “divulging confidential YouTube channel analytics information.” It also said statements by Akai Haato and Kiryu Coco were “insensitive to residents of certain regions.”
The Japanese company also apologized during a live Bilibili broadcast, saying it would enhance education on its “artists” and improve its system to avoid a repeat of similar events. The company also said it “always respects China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity” and “firmly upholds the one-China principle.”

And someone took a picture of a live broadcast about it.
nwe5cdi6s0q51.jpg

With her saying Taiwan, it causes an absolute shit-show not only because of Cover's decision, but the added Chink menace directed their anger towards Hololive.
Hololive moments, one of the biggest Chinese translators for Hololive, announces on their YouTube that they will no longer be translating any Hololive content after expressing his disappointment with the suspension, suggesting it should've been longer, seething over the fact someone said the word Taiwan.

Dear viewers, we will stop updating and private all our videos. We are not pleased with Cover’s announcement regarding the punishment for Coco and Haato on Monday. The punishment is unfair which is too heavy for Haato and too light for Coco. Cover didn’t understand the influence Coco created and showed no professionalism in solving related problems. We are very upset and confused by Coco’s reaction to her violation of the streaming agreement. Her violation created several bad effects:

1. Hololive’s proxy-streams are forced to stop.
2. Many Hololive talents’ income got impacted significantly.
3. It jeopardized Hololive’s business relationship with Bilibili, which caused a huge financial loss for both Bilibili and Cover. This may influence all future business collabs.
4. Thousands of content creators were disappointed and chose to leave the community.

Still, we hope Cover could solve the problem properly. However, the announcement on Monday proved that Hololive has no interest in changing anything. Time to time, their announcements are all the same and it clearly demonstrates they have no idea what is really going wrong.

Our Chinese members (including all our members from Chinese Hong Kong and Chinese Taipei) are disappointed with Coco and Cover who ignore China's territorial integrity and the feeling of Chinese viewers. We are disappointed because of Coco's negligence in her colleague’s career. We are also disappointed with Cover, who repeated the same mistake over and over again and showed little evidence about improvement.

Thus, Hololive Moments will stop updating and private all our videos before Cover could make an announcement that satisfied all of us. And now, we need to give a shout-out to our Bilibili friends who have suffered so much discrimination and they need the respect they deserve.

Hololive Moments is created and helped by thousands of fans from Bilibili, those creators are our most important partners, and we value them more than anything else, even over the VTubers themselves.

When all the content creators got upset about the fact that they weren’t getting the recognition and respect they deserve, it’s on us to ensure their voice is heard. We demand their effort to be recognized, and their hard work to be respected. Yes, this is closely related to you, because many contents you see here and on official Hololive channels are created by fans from Bilibili. Many of them have decided to leave the community due to the disappointment, and it’s a loss to the entire community.

You may be familiar with those masterpieces, these are all created by fans from Bilibili.

And a few popular arts on our channels are also made by Bilibili fans, for example:
PEKORA QUEST
“HERE’S SUISEI”
【Helltaker X hololive】H O L O T A K E R
Aqua’s Theory of Happiness
Hololive Party Parrot
Hololive vs Homolive Hearthstone
and many more... Additionally, many VTubers’ intro and outro are made by Bilibili sub teams, for example, Pekora’s outro, Ayame’s intro, etc.

We’ve run this channel for 10 months and are more than grateful to have so many fans and quality Hololive content on our channel. However, without the contributions from our friends from Bilibili, there is no way we could make this far. Without their trust in us, there’s no way we could share these great original artwork and meme videos with you. They deserve more recognition and respect, and this is why we are giving a shout-out for our friends.
More than 2 years ago, after the Hololive First Gen debuted, volunteer fan sub teams appeared on Bilibili. Hololive noticed the sub teams and authorized them as official sub teams. The official sub teams never get paid but worked diligently to help to spread Hololive to more audiences. Now, the Bilibili sub teams have had a complete system for every Hololive vtuber. They have been translating clips and even full streams of the girls. Meantime, artists on Bilibili have made many high-quality fan art videos and PVs with millions of views.

Bilibili company further invited Hololive to do more commercials in Azur Lane, Bang Dream, etc. From which we can see a strong connection. Bilibili and the fan community kept on helping Hololive to get popular, which helped tremendously in the early years. For example, in the biggest Japanese anime-con Nico Nico Super Kaigi 2019, Bilibili gave Hololive the chance to be on their stage when Hololive was too tiny to get its own booth at that time. Here’s a clip for that event. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XX2lz...

Financial income from Bilibili(data)
With the sub teams’ assistance, Hololive Btubers, such as Fubuki, Matsuri, Haato, and Aqua, went viral in Bilibili. During a period, their Bilibili income surpassed the super chats from YouTube. (For example, during May 2019, Aqua received approx 5.3 million yen from Bilibili, while her superchat on YouTube at the same time was around 3.5 million. During the three-months period when Aki got demonetized, Bilibili donation was her main source of income)

The incident and the consequences
Bilibili’s tolerance is limited, three strikes and it’s an out. Asacoco on 9/26/2020 is the fourth time Hololive runs into the issue. You can find the previous violations in the appendix. Cover was given a long time to address the issue since their 2nd violation, but yet it happened again.
In the 9/26/2020 Asacoco, Hololive vtuber Kiryu Coco violated the rules agreed by Bilibili and Hololive. Her following unprofessional responses have further provoked the anger of the Bilibili users and have led to a number of detrimental consequences to the entire community:
1. Hololive stopped all proxy-streams as a protection move.
2. Aki, Aqua, Suisei, and Matsuri’s Bilibili-exclusive streams got canceled.
3. While Coco’s income from bilibili is insignificant(0.7%) to her, Bilibili donation plays a much larger part for many other Hololivers. It’s unfair for other hololive members to receive such losses because.
4. It hurts Bilibili fans’, especially the official sub team members’ feelings. Many have quit translations and fan art productions.
5. It jeopardized Hololive’s business relationship with Bilibili, which may force Bilibili to cancel the future collaborations with Hololive. It caused a huge financial loss for both Bilibili and Cover. We may no longer see Hololive Collabs in Azur Lane or Arknights in the future.
6. Content creators are disappointed by Coco, Kiryu CoCo Official sub team and fan sub team Kiryu-Kai have disbanded themselves. Kiryu-Ka was the most iconic unofficial sub team in Bilibili. They uploaded 475 videos in the past 4 months. However, they don’t exist anymore.

Hololive and Cover had made a number of mistakes in management, and these events made us lose faith in their management team .
We’d expect things to go better at that point because they’ve promised to enhance the communication between the company and the sub teams, but little has changed since. More than 2,000 translators, editors, and artists are working in the official sub teams without pay since Hololive officially started their business in Bilibili, but without the respect they deserve. When such issues came up, Cover made insincere apologies, and their sub team was left to deal with the rages.
Hololive didn’t even pay attention to protect their own streamers. Mel, one of the first Hololive streamers, had to stop streaming for half a year without explanation because of intracompany harassment. Her physical address was leaked and she kept on receiving harassment letters. After Hololive found the stalker, he received no punishment except being transferred to another department. Such measures have shown that Hololive lacks the ability to help their streamers out of trouble and unable to treat their employees fairly.
When they got into legal issues with Nintendo, all Nintendo videos from Hololive had to be removed almost immediately. Thousands hours of hard work and millions of comments vanished, and there were no signs to recover. It angered thousands of contributors, and it makes them to once again question Cover’s legal department.
It shouldn’t end up like this when everything could have been avoided in the first place. It’s an awkward moment for many of us, and many of my friends are questioning themselves about whether or not they want to continue making subs and arts. What they asked for is very basic. They just want to hear “thank you” from their favorite streamers. They should deserve better.

Appendix I: Hololive’s history of Violations
At first, streaming on Bilibili was simple, VTubers were allowed to directly stream to both YouTube and Bilibili at the same time. However, there were constantly people intentionally bringing up anti-China issues in chats and then reporting their channels on Bilibili. Bilibili had no choice but to ban their channels for weeks. This happened to people in Hololive, Nijisanji, and many more. In order to protect the VTubers, from that point on, only proxy-streaming is allowed on Bilibili and YouTube chats have to be covered.
Hololive first encountered this issue in early 2019 when someone used a super chat in Aqua’s stream to say illegal messages in the stream. Aqua soon realized the problem and apologized. This time her channel was banned for a week as protection. She was still invited to future promotion events by Bilibili, and no one blamed her for her mistake.
When it comes to 2020, the world becomes more chaotic. Hololive had gained much popularity. While the fanbase has expanded rapidly, more and more people are seeking the opportunity to take it down by trying to get them involved in sensitive issues. From time to time, political traps appear in super chats and questions collected from the audience. On June 12th, a question from the audience sneaked on Choco’s channel, listing Tibet as an individual country. This caused her channel to get banned. Cover made an apology and promised such mistakes should never happen again.
Most streamers were very cautious about it like professional idols, they spotted hidden traps in many questions regarding sensitive issues around the world, and avoided those issues nicely. But this is not the case for Coco. Coco once got banned on YouTube for discussing Muslim related contents. Cover then announced that they would need to check Asacoco content before it was streamed, but it was turned down by her fans, claiming it’s an interference of streamer’s freedom and individualism. In fact, she kept using jokes on drugs, which is an extremely dangerous topic in many places in the world. Coco’s negligence caused the entire Hololive to be banned on Bilibili, and it scrapped the promise Cover made in June.

Appendix II: VTuber earnings on Bilibili
https://vup.darkflame.ga/ranking/mont...
Appendix III: Bilibili Fan’s experience Fans in China don’t get many connections with the VTubers. Since most of them can’t watch streams on YouTube, Hololive provided an alternative way to watch streams through proxy-streaming. Their donations don’t get read, VTubers don’t react to their chats, those member limited streams and contents are not available to them, and the creators’ hard work rarely gets recognized. Hundreds and thousands of fans are working diligently in sub teams to translate hours of streams and tweets every day. When it comes to bigger events such as 3D debut or new skin reveal, tens of people work together to translate the full stream in a couple of hours. But a lot of their hard work never gets recognized. Bilibili exclusive streams are the only chance for the fans to connect with streamers and show them the wonderful arts and memes they made. Yet, such exclusive-streams don’t happen regularly. Some do it a few times a month, and some never did one.
Yes we call Yagoo best girl, but we don't know if Holo is now managed by him since he'd said he will focus on holostars and INNK. We have been tired to believe Yagoo.
We’re tired. Not anything else, just so tired to love hololive. Same to tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of holofans who come from "somewhere does not exist in the world". Some people may be extremely angry and do something, but more people just so tired and left in silence.

Yes, it’s about you!
Back in late 2019 when English sub videos of Hololive are few on Youtube, we decided to spread the joy of Hololive and to show the charm of Hololive girls to the English community by starting this translation channel. When the BiliBili translation community heard our plan, they were glad to provide help and share their resources with us. Even though few Youtube viewers will notice their hard work and those videos will be posted on a website they can’t access themselves, they seldom complain but focus on helping the Hololive English community become stronger. In the hardest days when we lack manpower, their help supported us to maintain daily updates.

Hololive Moments

2019.12.16~2020. 9.28

On September 30th, Cover corporation releases a statement regarding the actions on Sept. 27th, saying that there were discrepancies between the Japanese release to the Chinese release of what exactly went on behind the Taiwan incident.

Notice: This document is an excerpt translation of the original Japanese document and is only for reference purposes. In the event of any discrepancy between this translated document and the original Japanese document, the latter shall prevail.

Explanation of the Events Leading to Our Public Statement on September 27th, and Our Company’s Plans Going Forward
We apologize for the confusion resulting from our recent official statement.

On September 27, 2020, due to unauthorized disclosure of confidential YouTube channel analytics and actions violating our company guidelines (regarding understanding differences in perspective and taking into account the positions of countries in which we provide our services) by our company’s talents, we released a statement of apology on the matter and have dealt the necessary sanctions on the talents involved.

However, there were discrepancies between the statement published for the Chinese audience and those which were published for the Japanese and global audiences. We would like to deeply apologize for the confusion caused by this carelessness.

Below, we would like to explain the sequence of events leading up to the release of our prior official statement.

Sequence of Events

  1. At around the time that we were made aware of the aforementioned conduct, Hololive Production talents had become the subject of numerous abusive messages and threats to their life or of bodily harm. In light of this, we responded by privating or deleting the controversial videos.
  2. Despite the above measures taken, the situation did not improve. In accordance with company guidelines, a decision was made to release an official statement and to discipline the talents involved.
  3. In preparing the official statement, and after careful consultation with our partner company located in China, we were advised that, to secure the safety of our talents and employees and ensure that they are able to continue their activities moving forward, it was necessary for us to release a clear statement to the Chinese audience regarding the disputed statements.
  4. Taking the above circumstances into account, in order to prioritize the safety of our talents and related parties, our company decided that it was necessary to speak out quickly, leading to the emergency release of the official statement on September 27, 2020.
However, as a result, the official statement we released included language insensitive to certain geographical regions. We understand the severe ramifications of this issue both domestically and internationally, and deeply regret our poor handling of the situation.

We are aware that Hololive Production has a worldwide audience, across many countries and territories. As such, we operate on the principle of providing our services to each country and territory in accordance with its laws, social norms, common wisdom, and the stance of its current government.

Due to the above circumstances, and because our service policies, guidelines, and modes of communication differ depending on the countries and territories to which we provide our service, we decided to adapt the contents of our statement and the manner of its release accordingly. However, this led to differing statements being released. We would once more like to deeply apologize for the confusion this had caused.

Our company takes the confusion caused by this matter very seriously and, in order to clarify management responsibility, we held an emergency management meeting on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, where, in addition to reprimanding the CEO, our company has resolved to establish a Compliance Committee to prevent the recurrence of such situations. Furthermore, the CEO will relinquish a portion of his salary, in light of the seriousness of this situation.

Moving forward, we will make it company policy to release statements that not only conform to local laws and customs but are also universally equitable, and rework our internal guidelines to ensure consistency.

Moreover, to provide everyone with better service, we promise to always convey a sincere and honest attitude towards our fans and viewers. We hope for your continued support.

We kindly request that you refrain from contacting our talents in relation to the situation.

Not only this, but r/Hololive starts to go crazy over this, receiving mass reports and the like from "antis" (Chinks).

And mass reports to Chinks who believe raiding Reddit will do anything productive to their cause.

Chinks not only were this petty, but were actively planning gay-ops on Chinese boards and were making really unnecessarily gay Tweets against Coco.

And were even scared to attack Hololive EN.

Eventually, On October, Hololive announces that all of their Chink branch will be graduating, although directly not saying the reason, it was most likely due to the chink craziness over the Taiwan incident. Unfortunately, not much was documented on this except a Reddit post and an archived graduation stream.

COVER Corporation

Anti's were somewhat of a problem even after the whole Taiwan incident, which eventually culminated in the graduation of Kiryu Coco herself in July 1st of 2021. She did not explicitly state that she left because of the Chink debacle, it was probably a reason she couldn't have told her fans.

Also regarding anti's, after her graduation, the chink menace imploded with anti's now being outcasted on their forum.
ngainfo.png

To summarize this whole thing, two Vtubers said Taiwan which caused an immense shit-show which lead to really bad decisions by Cover and eventually ended by her graduating, and the chinks being banned on their own platform for being that insufferable. There is a lot more to go from this, with the rumors of Hololive CN member Artia being part of the gay-ops against Coco, to mass dislike raids from Chinks on members not even included in the Taiwan thing, and even some chinks getting in trouble for using a VPN to cause all of this gay shit, but push comes to show, the CCP are really really massive faggots.

E. some minor changes and grammar improvement.

Chinese otaku/weebs are scarily hyper-nationalist. It's genuinely cult-like how so many of them will dogpile on someone who dares say something that could offend Dear Leader Xi Jinping.

Chinese weebs freaked out over the Monster Hunter movie reciting that nursery rhyme about Chi-knees and reviewbombed MH World and got the movie pulled from theaters. SEVERAL voice actors, American and Japanese get fired and removed from certain games for acknowledging Taiwan as a country. Several games like Life is Strange get reviewbombed for having Taiwanese or Tibetan flags, PUBG got reviewbombed for showing an advertisement for a VPN (Chairman Jinping says privacy is a no-no!), and let's not even get started with what happened to Devotion.

It's crazy how sensitive these people are to anything that could reflect badly on China. Most every other country in the world is okay with being criticized, a ton of Japan's culture is self-criticizing, yet when it comes to China, every game/movie/tv company has to duck its head down to not offend its sensibilities.

Consider that if they weren't whipped up into a perpetually frenzied condition of state-enforced hyper-nationalism, most of China would probably still be killing themselves by the hundred thousands over civil wars instigated by the pettiest of reasons.

Chinese history is pretty fun.

Currently going on is some drama.

Veibae, a popular Vtuber who is in Vshojo, was recently clipped regarding her thoughts on her "copycat" Shylily.

What is referred to as Shylily, doppelganger and copycat are pseudonyms for her, what caused so much controversy however, was when Veibae referred to people who want to watch her as "settling for less."

Something like this is obviously uncalled for and quite unprofessional to say the least. Why go after a smaller channel that sounds remotely like you and you've never interacted with before?

It is true that they both sound eerily similar, but regardless, for someone who is hired by a big company, something like this should never have been said, especially over something as trivial as sounding similar to yourself.

Also a screenshot from her Discord shows the petty interactions between her fans and herself, regarding something as simple as emotes.

Also with the type of individual we're dealing with...

lol the smaller V-tuber she's bitching about really looks like she has a much more professionally done avatar. Probably not a good idea for her to bring attention to her channel.

To each their own. Veibae was never the brightest of the bunch, especially with her pinned tweet of a Shrek buttplug on her verified Twitter account.

Okay if the Nyanners old KiwiFarms thread isn't reopened or at least got moved to the famous internet tubers list. I might make a better version myself cause honestly when you got Turkey Tom making a video on her. I'm just shocked no one bothers to fix that. Might do it in April if I find a team to help me make the secret thread. Including rebuilding new info and junk. I'm planning this underground.

You say this while openly posting about it in a mostly publicly accessible thread.
Tell me about it? I could do this right now and try to get some info on her right. Including finding her dox to her past dramas. Some are thankfully archived but you know never know if some info can get missing. I will see what I can do with this stuff. Wish me luck Gravemind
