He thinks making no sense is the same as being humorous because every joke he has ever heard has flown over his head and they don't make sense to him.
He's been known to go as far as Richmond for amiibos, and this isn't even half the distance. I imagine this is a combination of Chris being banned from a local store, so he has to go the one the next town over, or they didn't have the lego set he wanted in stock at his local location, and it's not like he has anything but free time to make trips like this.

Best guess, it's just his random access humour.
Like in all his modern videos he makes silly noises, talks in extremely grating baby talk and does childish sound effects and humming, usually when playing with his toys. It's the most irritating aspect of Chris nowadays to me, it's obnoxious, cringey and just plain sad to sit through...
