I said "Fuck Doug" as a joke because Cecil and Malin were goofing on them. If you listen to the whole segment of the video you'll hear me saying a lot of nice things about them. It was obviously a JOKE! Much like Doug Ernst.

Then the D&Q things happened. I saw people having fun and went to join in for like 2 minutes. 2 minutes that we are still talking about today. I try to pop into as many CG streams as I can to like and boost their numbers, but I don't have a lot of time. I popped in and they were talking about Pussy. "I like Pussy" which I'm finding difficult to see how they connected that with hate speech towards George and trying to ruin Doug's campaign. No, they USED that as a weapon because of who I am and who I work with.

Edwin came to me the morning after I went on to the War Campaign show and said "I like Pussy," again having no idea who George Iiannoppolllis was or that anything was going on at all. I honestly didn't follow a lot of the trash being slung around and still don't pay all that much attention. So Edwin was upset, which I understood. He was confused how I can be friends with him and them jump on them with WC. I didn't know. I apologized.

Calling Mitch a "hyperbolic diva" during this struck me as projection, but who knows? I still don't quite know what was going on here.

Blake and Mortimer is actually a fantastic example of the Ligne Claire style, as well as being genuinely for kids, unlike Image comics which were more for low-intelligence, horny virgin comic readers, and not really suitable for kids if you care about growing good kids.

I actually love Blake and Mortimer, which is why I had it so handy. HAHA! But horny virgin American kids (And the Japanese I would say) want drama, violence, action, and lots of cool. If we could some how get a little of both good storytelling and in your face awesome, I'd be a happy man.

And being from the 1940s, Blake and Mortimer is literally done in a retro style. Born 1946, living on to the present day, new stuff still being published at the age of 55. Will people be buying Cyber Force, or Frog or whatever, fifty years from now? Will artists be working to carry on those wonderful, important legacies? Do those properties have ANYWHERE near the story potential of Blake and Mortimer, to last fifty plus years? I'll leave it to you to ponder the answer.

Europe embraces comics. America does not. Entire corporations in Europe and Japan give artists what they need to do their best work (Albeit in Japan they get absolutely no time where as European artists get all the time in the world to do master works. ) We don't get that luxury. Will and Mortimer and Tin TIn are kept in print constantly and given to children to read from an early age. But I would bet money that if you had that Cyberforce comic sitting right next to a Mortimer on a shelf and let that little French kid choose, they would go for the Cyberforce. They might get both. That's just a gut feeling though.

Everyone CAN make a comic, but it doesn't mean that comic will be good.

With the rampant gate keeping in comics and everywhere else, Comicsgate at the very least fosters an environment in which you are free to try. No one ever said you'd be successful. But you have a chance.

I'm here for the comic fan (customer) because until I heard Zack talking about it... I didn't really think much about them. I knew I was making stuff for them, but never bothered to really get close to them. I still view myself as a fan. It was like a lightbulb going off in my head. From that point on, I've been trying to correct that oversight on my part.

I was working at Archie, and doing my own Image book, talking with pros in Facebook groups seeing other pros being attacked and fired, etc. That didn't set well with me either and I had to take some kind of stand. Not trying to toot my own horn or anything, I was just paying attention.

So yeah, it hurts when OG CG, the Youtube reviewers start turning their backs on CG saying the pros are trying to make it all about them. I never saw it that way. We came in like Gandalf at Helms Deep, ready to make things for a hungry audience and to have their backs and they having ours.

Everything has gotten all screwed around through pride, greed, arrogance, and just plain old stupidity.

As far as I'm concerned, we are all still in this to achieve a certain goal. Let's get on it.

The complaints you guys are making about shit books being made is a feature of CG, not a bug. There are no gatekeepers to green-light or red-light titles in the self-publishing space, anyone can start a crowd-fund. That's the price you have to pay for removing the gatekeepers in the woke corporate world.

Yeah, that's a fair point. The only real barrier of entry to CG is the decision to call yourself CG. There are some other social factors, like seeing which "faction" of CG you fall into or where you are accepted, but it's CG all the same. Obviously this differs from Marvel or DC, as you don't have to be hired by ComicsGate to promote your book as such. So perhaps I shouldn't prop up "ComicsGate" as a potential alternative to the mainstream. It'll be the companies like ALL CAPS that might offer that alternative as they continue to develop, and of course those companies will have gatekeepers by nature. If we get enough of these indie companies putting out high-quality books and bringing in new readers, that'll probably be the best success we can hope for in CG.

You don't read my comments to him as empathetic? I was trying to find out why he was acting the way he was, and what was going on. I was entirely sincere. But it soon became clear that Kelsey was only a cudgel being used to get at someone's real target, which was Mitch Breitweiser.

Why was all of this happening? Because the Breitweisers fired Pellegrini from RED ROOSTER.

For that, all associates and apparent friends of the Breitweisers would be treated to a two year long temper tantrum of gay ops from Pellegrini's boyfriend Tim Lim.

I got Nasser’s ASYL today. He delivers at a reasonable time. That’s great. It came with a trading card, a patch and a sticker. Those are great too. I love mcguffins.

The book itself however, I have mixed feelings with. It‘s black and white, but we all knew that from the get go. The cover paper quality is standard but the pages feel more like they belong in a coloring book than in an actual comic. I don’t know if that’s what Nasser was going for and if I missed the memo or what. I didn’t dig it too much. I suppose, if I had gotten a second copy then the book would be great to test my coloring skills since the book is just black and white with no grey tone shading.

The story itself, was hard to follow at times, especially the end. Nasser, You are going to have to explain that to me cuz that shit really came out of left field. Basically she is running around in a fever dream having visions and reader is left to figure out what is real and what is not. There is very little character dialogue and no exposition to help the reader to figure out what is going. Most of the story is told by action and dreamlike sequences and the reader is left to piece together what is going on. Only the story is so disjointed that it‘s very hard to do that. I dont want to give away any spoilers in case anyone else here got the book and I hate to sound like I’m bashing Nasser cuz I actually like the guy but, I gotta be honest. His comic writing skills need a lot of work especially since it looks like he tried to fit a novel inside a twenty page book.

I think this book could have benefited from a colorist and a few more pages to help further flesh out the story.



I can’t really recommend the book but, I will say if you, Nasser, are going to do another comic like this, then take more time writing the script out. The story felt super rushed. Also, spend a little more money on a better artist. Vic’s art feels too stiff and static and doesn’t really do a good job of conveying the story‘s action sequences, especially when it looks like the character is not really sure herself what is going on in the story. See if you can get that Spawn guy to do another book for you.
